  1. I've spent five Septembers in Pattaya and rain really isn't a problem. It's unlikely to have any significant impact on your trip.
  2. Thanks for that Tom. I'll be using them shortly.
  3. 1200 baht all in is a good price for a pre-booked taxi. Worth a look if the service is good.
  4. The Brit press not reporting on something like this could mean that the Government have slapped a 'D' notice on it. But why would they do that if it was an accident? Makes you wonder...
  5. Not guest friendly. Mainly oriented towards families I think.
  6. You call that girl friendly? Not sure the girls would agree.
  7. I like Sabai Lodge for its layout and location, but I'm not a fan of most of the older rooms. Windows too small and no balcony. If I stay there, I go for Sabai Wing.
  8. I use a Pattaya based company who've always been 100 per cent reliable.
  9. Just be aware that many of them use outside taxi companies, so no comeback on the hotel if they don't show.
  10. We did. That's why you've got it.
  11. FBF Thanks for clueing me in. I'm just wondering why they didn't tell me themselves. Must cause them some problems if they don't give this info out, surely?
  12. I've used EVA many times (though not on this route) and have never encountered anything like this. Is this problem maybe peculiar ro LAX? I've never used an e-ticket, though I think that this business with the credit card isn't confined to EVA.
  13. I've never used this lot before, so I'd welcome a bit of advice on how they operate. The story so far. I made a booking enquiry with them and was sent an e-mail with the details. I e-mailed them back to confirm the booking and received a further e-mail from them, which was identical to the first except it had seat numbers on it. No mention of paying for tickets or when they will be sent to me. So what happens next? Will they contact me about payment or am I supposed to get in touch with them?
  14. The service in Premium laurel is good. They nearly got my name right on one occasion.
  15. If that was a serious post then it sounds like we're having another outbreak of viral amnesia. Run for it lads.
  16. I knew we'd get the right answers to these questions eventually.
  17. WestEast do tend to be cheaper, but Ours Travel are better if availability is a problem, as they seem to find seats when no-one else can.
  18. Phew! Thanks for the info fellers. Now all I need is a week off work to sort it all out...
  19. Thanks guys. Now here's a supplementary question. If I want to upgrade from Elite to PL, is it possible to do it on a flight where Elite is fully booked i.e. do I have to book an available Elite seat on the flight before I can upgrade even though I don't need the Elite seat anyway? Hope I've explained that OK. Bit of a Catch 22, this one.
  20. Anyone thinking of booking EVA Elite LHR-BKK in the near future be warned. It's already pretty well booked solid for the next four months, so get your bookings in quick unless you want to end up with the riff-raff in Economy.
  21. I'm sure that the post-op katoeys will be pleased to see that their surplus bits are being recycled.
  22. Guess I must try harder than I think then.
  23. If you're making a booking direct with the hotel, I'd check with them first. Guest fees are often waived if you make the booking with them. Otherwise, you'll be looking at around 500-1500 baht per guest. If I were you, I'd go somewhere that doesn't charge guest fees at all. The places that do are basically saying they don't want you there. Check out the hotels section on this board for recommendations.
  24. That's a comfortable budget if you keep an eye on what you spend.
  25. Thanks Gus. If it's 30,000 airmiles then it's the same as the old Evergreen Deluxe upgrade.
