  1. I've used Nams Taxis twice. I received prompt emails with telephone numbers and they turned up on time both times. Very satisfied with the service. Just to balance your view . KM
  2. Try Poolhustler who advertises on here. I've been renting his bikes for years when i go out there and never been disappointed with his bikes or service. KM
  3. Just put in the dates for August/September on the Etihad website and its coming up at £399.95 Same dates for Thai Airways is £788.75!!! KM
  4. Don't try and turn it back onto me, it doesn't work. So you're not PC, so what's new? They may have being showing pictures on their phone, but not to you if you're being ignored - feeble excuse.
  5. You are the only person who could turn a straightforward food review into a sledging of the Japanese for no reason. How on Earth could you see what they were looking at on their phones when by your own admission you were ignored. KM
  6. It gives the ambulances more space to park when they come to pick up the bodies! KM
  7. Nams Taxis. There is a thread running about her. Normally does airport runs and is very good, but I believe she does other taxi work too. KM
  8. Yes, definitely. I went about 3pm, which in hindsight was a bit early if you intend staying late to watch the bands and have a few beers. Some very good bands, including Goober Gun, a British rock band. They're playing at the Blue Lagoon in Pattaya on Valentines Day (5pm) according to their website and well worth seeing. I went up by bike and it was easy parking and easy enough when leaving about midnight. Bands were booked to play from 5.30 and the last one to START playing at 2.40 am!! There a few cars, not masses. There are a lot of cars vying for the Battle of the Stereos and they are VERY loud! Very colourful when dark and a few have dancers doing very little on top of them. All around the place are bikes, bikes and more bikes. Big ones, little ones, shiny ones, not so shiny, custom and standard. I also didn't get the Thai Indians either! Lots of stalls selling all kinds of stuff, but what makes this so different to other bike shows I've been to is nothing is extortionately expensive. For instance all the food is sold at a price that Thais normally pay, rather than like in the UK they ramp up the costs dramatically. There's no entrance fee so people come and go as they like. Some were still coming in when I left. Worth going? I'd say yes, but if going for the whole day, worth taking something to sit on to listen to the bands and give yourself a break from walking around I did take a lot of pics and video of the event and if I can figure out how to upload them from my Macbook I'll put them on, but I'm only here for another 2 days so it might have to wait until I'm back home and have more time. KM
  9. I went up this afternoon, mainly just to find out where it was. Had a ride around it then stopped and chatted to a couple of Brit guys about what's on. Tomorrow (well today actually!) they said to get there early afternoon and will go on till late with some pretty good bands playing. I shall be going around 2pm and stopping until i'm all biked out!! KM
  10. I've seen that this takes place on 12-13th Feb (bike week only two days??) and that it is at the Eastern National Sports Training centre Soi Chaiyapruek 2 - but that's all I know. Does anyone have any further details about this event or series of events over the next few days? They have a Facebook page, but I'm not a FB member and cannot view it. Many thanks KM
  11. I've edited the title so hopefully no-one else gets caught out. Someone else had already moved it to the correct forum. Play nice guys. KM
  12. Good games yesterday. Italy were so unlucky not to come away with a huge feather in their cap by almost beating France at home. France seemed to be slow starting both halves and Italy showed they didn't just come to make up the numbers. This could be their best ever 6 Nations. Good win for England, who have yet to concede a try at Murrayfield since 2004. Steadied the ship a bit after the World Cup debacle. Tonights game between Ireland and Wales should be good as between them they have won the last 4 championships. Kick off at 10pm thai time. On a completely different note, on the way back from the Metro bar last night after the games, I stopped off at a small bar just down the road from the Cherry bar. Outside it had some firecrackers and other Chinese New Year stuff. At some point, I know not why, one of the bar staff decide to burn it all! She put a tin bucket in the road and, other than the firecrackers, put the other stuff in the bin and burnt it. Not only that, but she thought it a good idea to use a pool cue to poke at the fire to keep it going. Another bar girl thought this was a jolly good wheeze and promptly took another pool cue and had a prod with that!! End result was a lot of burnt paper and two completely useless pool cues! No point asking to chalk the tips! She then set off the firecrackers which sprayed the inside of the small bar and sent everyone running for cover - they're all mad!!!!! Right, off to watch t'match! KM
  13. Must have been on a 'work to rule'!!
  14. Where did you get that receipt from, Gabor, because I can't believe you would knowingly go in a place that overcharges so much and hand over that sort of money, unless someone barfined you and you said you were from Hungary and they though you said you were..........? KM
  15. My flight two weeks ago landed at 5.40 (it was due at 6.20) and I cleared immigration within a few minutes of reaching it. However ALL bags from my flight were delayed by about 40 minutes, so it's pretty hit and miss as to whether this service is always a benefit as opposed to just catching it right. In all my visits I have very rarely had any major delays getting through immigration and collecting my baggage. KM
  16. There is that possibility, but it's only a slim one. Although Scotland got further than England in the World Cup last year, they haven't beaten them since 2008 in the Calcutta Cup and lost ALL their 6 Nations games last year. Hopefully under a new coach and a change around of the team, England could surprise a few people this year - or not! Still nobody want to meet up with Billy No-Mates here to watch the game? KM
  17. He won't get a kicking from those arrested - they would probably put a hip out! KM
  18. The Six Nations starts this weekend, anyone in Patts fancy meeting up for a beer and share sage, well qualified, unbiased opinions on the play as it happens? All Thai timings Saturday 6th - France v Italy, 21.25 Scotland v England 23.50 Sunday 7th - Ireland v Wales 22.00 Saturday 13th - France v Ireland, 21.25 Wales v Scotland 23.50 Sunday 14th - Italy v England 22.00 What are the venues of choice to watch these games? I-Rovers? KM
  19. Whatever you do, don't take up Bridge!!!! KM
  20. He better be - i've got one of his bikes!! KM
  21. Nope - I brought him 2 x 240's!! Don't do things by halves!! KM
  22. I'm coming out next week if you want me to bring a few bags? Let me know soonest. KM
  23. Thats because the girlie pics are in the other thread mentioned in the opening post.
  24. Yes, I'm really a moderator and yes, you still sound like a 12 year old.
  25. Yep - definitely about 12. Jacko, when I've travel cattle class I still use the lounges, but the 'paid for' ones. At Heathrow it's about 35 quid, can't remember how much at BKK. Facilities At Heathrow are pretty good, at BKK not as good, but not as much price wise. In business class you still get the benefit of the fast stream entry and exit though! KM
