I have recently become a huge fan of Cafe Patron. That shit is dangerous. Goes down way, way too easy and sneaks up on ya like an alcoholic ninja.

Some significant others are more fun in Pattaya than you might imagine. Biggest problem with mine was that she always wants to bring home a stunner Oh, that and she is a moody bitch who takes forever to get ready... um, maybe you are right! Oh wait, there that whole significant other and three bar girl nightly routine...

Advance Payment to Hotel
Sailfast replied to Cookie Monster's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
FWIW, I think it's a security issue. They want to make sure the person traveling is the person who booked the tickets. As an added confusing bit of information, I once booked a flight for a friend on Thai Air: JFK - BKK, we where leaving on different dates but returning together so I booked his ticket to be sure we where no the same return flight. I actually had a form emailed to me that I printed up and had to fill out and GET WITNESSED BY A NOTARY PUBLIC in order for my friend to fly on the ticket I purchased for him with my credit card on Thai Air's website. Also FWIW, when it hap -
No thanks, you keep it.

OK, I'm no expert. From what I have been told, "Crest White Strips" work just as well and are much less dough. Takes a bit longer though.

Advance Payment to Hotel

You got lots more miles in than me, but as I said earlier, I have been asked, and denied boarding at U-Tapao. ANA and Thai Air have both asked for the card at JFK so. @BigD, I would be careful about getting a United ticket and ending up traveling on another Star Alliance partner. Might be a long shot, but you never know. -

Make sure it's not the one you put your airline tickets on. You could be fucked if it is. Some airlines require that you have your card (valid) in order to board. Bangkok Air required me to repurchase my tickets when I cancelled a card and showed them a replacement at the airport. Most international flights require that you show them the credit card at check in. -
E-Mail for Residence Garden?

I had the exact same experience. Weak signal, inconsistent connection. When it works, it's OK. -
And for the record, it's not just wait staff we are talking about here. Car parking valet, doorman, casino dealers, butlers, bartenders, bar backs, limo drivers, etc., may fall under the "tipped employee" special rules for minimum wage. Yes, in some cases they may be paid more, but not always. In some casinos the house may actually keep the dealers tips until the amount becomes greater than the casino pays it's dealers. Then the dealers keep the difference. Granted these dealers may be paid well over the minimum wage. And for the record, I would much rather be a waiter, bartender o

I prefer the USA type system that allows the customer to decide how much to tip as apposed to the "service charge" that I have seen attached to many bills in the UK, and Asia.

It's standard procedure on every flight I've been recently, including domestic flights in Thailand.

Holy shit! edit: Holy shit was directed at the post above, but, it appears the video has been removed.

Yup, that's a funny story. Wondering not IF, but WHAT the scam is. Maybe he will try and collect on travelers insurance

I stayed there two years ago and thought it was over priced and a bit run down. The location is not horrible, but there are much better locations. NO in room safe and their "lock boxes" are a joke. They are cheap units with cheap locks and, get this, they are accessible to anyone walking in to the open courtyard style (as in outdoors) lobby off the street. TV was shit. Balcony had the HOT loud a.c. unit just over the little plastic table and chair. I had to duck down under it to get to the chair. No joiner fee. It's up in the air if ID's are checked or held by securit

The website says that some rooms are 850 and go up to 1000 w/ balcony. Maybe that's all they had available? I never heard of them offering a PattayaTalk discount. If anything, TTT probably charges more for members here

RIP and thanks for the info. It's nice when I come across some music that is an absolute must have for my Ipod, yet for some reason it's not there. Going to download his stuff right now!

Arriving Late in Ba,ngkok, What Best to Do?
Sailfast replied to sinsinbad's topic in Transport in Thailand
If this is your first trip to Thailand, you might not know that traveling to Bangkok from the airport is more or less the opposite way of Pattaya. If you hit horrible city traffic it could end up taking just as long to get from the airport to Bangkok as it does from the airport to Pattaya. Unlikely at that time of night, but... Also, you will end up making your trip to Pattaya that much longer the next day. The bars in Pattaya tend to be open later than Bangkok. I don't think you will be able to catch a bus at that time. If memory serves me, they stop before midnight. Just get a t
