  1. And the vote rigging conntinues..... BigD has almost reached a positive figure now.
  2. I'm coming up to 50, my parents are both still alive and in their late 70's. I have a brother but 3 years ago he fucked off to live in Scotland with his wife (soon to be ex-wife) and has no intention of ever moving back. So I am now the only family my parents have left living locally. Because of this I won't leave them with no one to look after them.
  3. But the difference is I have no intention of flying the Nightmare liner, unless I have no alternative.
  4. And you made a huge thing of it and slagged off RR left right and centre.!!!
  5. Wow, you're willing to risk flying on a plane equipped with RR Trent engines? Got to admit the Thai A380 is the best looking livery so far.
  6. I found Etihad's service to be rather lacking.... on more than one occasion I asked a passing FA if they could fetch me a bottle of red which they replied "we will bring one for you" but they never did meaning I ended up having to the galley for one, whereas Emirates would return with one almost instantly.
  7. Just returned from a short trip and we flew with Emirates this time. Compared to my last trip on Etihad the in-flight experience was much better - the flight attendants could not have been any more helpful. Both return legs were A380 and I must say that is now my favourite plane to travel on. Want to give Qatar a try to see how they compare, and if there price is competitve the next time I book I will go with them.
  8. I have flown both Emirates and Etihad from Manchester. Compared to Emirates the Etihad service was poor and it wasn't just on one leg of the flight, it was all four legs. Haven't tried Qatar yet, but a few friends use them so might give them a try next time.
  9. I use a similar approach, it also gives me the chance to barter with them , they want to sell and if they price is right I might buy. That way I don't waste valuable drinking time hunting round shops.
  10. And it even shows on the Sat Nav map on my Nokia N8...
  11. I seem to recognise the guy "David".... I'm sure I saw him watching the ladyboy show at Soi 9 when we had a bar there, and on the same night later on he appeared at one of the New Plaza bars with a ladyboy from the show in tow.
  12. They'll probably be doing the village wedding, not the legal one.
  13. I've spent a couple of hours wandering round taking pics in the Sukhothai Historical park.... impressive place to visit.
  14. That section of road has been open at least 12 months, can remember my bus back to Bangkok heading out of Pattaya that was in May last year.
  15. I did the Settlement Visa and Indefinite Leave to Remain Visa for my other half when she came to the UK. It's all about evidence of a relationship and proof that you can support them. It's not hard. It was quite funny, just before filing our application called in at one of these "Visa" specialists ( that guarantee successful applications) for some advice and they offered to fill in our form for us, it wouldn't cost too much, so we thought ok, we'll let them do it. When I checked through the form later they had made deliberate mistakes with the information I had given them - obviously they thought I would use their form and the application would fail and we would go back to them because they guarantee success..... their ploy failed. Filled in a new application form, submitted it and 3 moths later the visa came through. I know someone who has used well known UK based immigration specialist and their application failed for the simple reason that the specialist failed to tell my mate his visible income was not enough to support him and his wife. Their application failed but the "specialist" still pocketed the fee.
  16. Just checked the price for our dates this month. Yes, the price has dropped about £30 per person, but the flights we got are not showing available and most involve a long wait in Dubai.for the flight back to Manchester.
  17. Good.... I'm quite partial to the tuna ones!!!
  18. Damn.... I'm going to miss you by 1 day.... would have been great to catch up with you again!
  19. I'm lucky this time...I land on the 19th!!!
  20. Have travelled with both Emirates and Etihad and I must admit I prefer Emirates. Looking for to my next trip as I will be doing the A380 BKK - DXB and then DXB - MAN.
  21. Just booked to fly out on EK22/EK374 next month...... We only have to suffer the sardine can 777 on the DXB-BKK leg...... Coming back it's A380 both legs!!! I always pre-book seats and on the DXB-MAN leg of the return flight there was hardly any blocks of 3 seats left for the date we fly back.
  22. There might be operational reasons for the cancellations.... Just been pricing flights for mid June and Emirates is coming up the most expensive between Emirates, Etihad and Qatar for the dates I was looking at.
  23. :bhappy :bhappy
  24. Could always ask BigD if he will hang around for 24 hours... he arrives the day before!
