  1. Recently problems were discovered with the production of them... The 787 still lives up to it's "Nightmareliner" nickname. https://www.reuters.com/article/boeing-deliveries/boeing-finds-new-787-dreamliner-production-problem-idINKBN25Z2R6 Perhaps Boeing have been lucky that due to COVID demand for deliveries has dropped off, but already some customers are re-examining their orders due to Boeing problems and the delays.
  2. It's all well and good Bojo saying all Uk travel restrictions ending in mid June..... but everybody is relying on other countries to lift restrictions. Massive surge in holiday bookings for summer reported last night.... Prayut will probably wait until there has been progress made on vaccinating Thais before allowing arrivals without quarantine.
  3. 5.1 for me..... My sat box outputs digital audio so it's not just for watching DVD's.... In preparation for when I retire I've already got a set of Kef speakers sat awaiting installation in Thailand, along with a Marantz AV amp...
  4. Think this season might be my last.... I've got to admit I'm shit at this Fantasy Football and all I seem to achieve is mid table mediocrity.
  5. You're lucky.... after losing 4 of my squad players to last minute Covid postponements I didn't even qualify for the cup...... the first time I've failed to qualify!!!.....
  6. According to British Airways "Terms and Conditions" you are entitled to a full refund as you are now a victim of them cancelling a flight. I quoted "Terms and Conditions" to Qatar Airways after they cancelled my flights earlier this year and received a full refund within 2 weeks despite my fare being of the non-refundable type.
  7. That's not a Kia..... it's a Ford Focus...
  8. I'm luckier than most as I'm being allowed to carry my leave entitlement over, unfortunately Mrs Fiend isn't....
  9. Excellent trip report... tempted to visit a few of those places after I retire!!!
  10. 10 x B747-400 6 x 777-200 6 x 777-300 6 x A340-600 5 x A340-500 1 x A300-600 2 x 737-400 The A340's have been in storage for years, the 772s and 773s have been in service until recently but are old and looking their age and along with the 747 were coming up to retirement anyway, the global COVID situation has brought forward their retirement.
  11. But those boards of yours did go wrong...... I used to spent plenty of time in my younger days replacing components on them.......
  12. Found out today that my step-daughters graduation ceremony is to be held in December and for the first time since Thailand closed the border Mrs Fiend has mentined about flying back... Even just to have a week with family it'll cost her 3 weeks leave, and that's if they'll let her take it.... I could go as well, due to being the spouse of a Thai National, but if I go I'll have to suffer a stay in an ASQ....
  13. Things don't get any better for Boeing..... It has now come out that there is a large number of 787's that have been built with a manufacturing flaw in the horizontal stabiliser... https://www.seattletimes.com/business/boeing-aerospace/boeing-admits-a-new-quality-issue-on-the-787-and-tallies-more-737-max-cancellations/ More quality control issues..... And apparently the issue could be on up to 893 of the 982 that have already been delivered The 787 is still living up to its' Nightmareliner nickname...
  14. I know I'm shite at this and I don't know why I keep entering but I'm back for another go!!! My score for the last 5 season has increased every year so I do seem to be slowly getting better at it....
  15. For a regular flyer who lives near one of the places selling the passes it's a good offer. I've used Bangkok Airways to fly up to Chiang Mai and Sukothai.
  16. An appearance in "Shoestring" got me into Toyah....
  17. The Cure..... Recently nducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.... Still sounds good 40 years on
  18. I'm not an expat yet, and I'm not yet retired..... but I have decided on a date for taking early retirement and the closer I am getting to that date the more I am looking forward to it. There is also a chance that date might get brought forward, depending on whether the government forces budget cuts on my employers in view of what has happened over the last 6 months with the virus crisis. Contractors working on the site have already seen numbers cut and there are strong rumours of a sweet deal being offered to allow people to retire early in order to reduce staff numbers rather than makin
  19. 7-11 using the same idea as McD's and their flatpack restaurants
  20. I believe Qatar will be keeping theirs mothballed but there are plans to bring them back,
  21. Looks like Emirates are starting to bring the A380's back into service... A lot of Boeing fanboys were hoping the A380 was killed off by Coronavirus...... Emirates obviously are proving them wrong. Coronavirus has killed off BA and Virgins 747's
  22. Skygod (RIP) would have loved it!!!
  23. I was issued vouchers with the 10% extra when they cancelled my flights but wanted a refund. If Qatar have cancelled your flights there should be no charges for a refund.... Their T & C's state that if they cancel, not you, then you are entitled to a full refund without charges. I got a full refund on a non-refundable ticket.
