OK, guys, need your help with some reputable places here in pattaya. I have spent the last couple weeks going to the pattaya hospital on soi 4 to have a root canal and crown done. I cant even begin to say how satisfied I am as far as price, pain and convience. They did an excellent job.

Now though, I need to get 2 implants before I leave this trip, problem....the Pattaya hospital charges 75,000 per implant, several places I have seen prices ranging from 38,000 to 50,000.

can anyone who has had implants done here in pattaya give me an idea if paying the 75,000 to the hospital is worth it, or are there other great dentists that can do as good a job for less money. I dont want to deal with pain....lol.

thanks guys...any heads up would be great.

If you come here regulary it might be a different situation but any dentist who puts on a definitive crown or denture on an implant earlier then 3 months after insertion is a money greedy quak

I have seen Dr. Cherry on 4 visits and have had crowns and a filling replaced by her and I've been very happy with her work to date. Not the cheapest place I've found but the prices are better than Pattaya Hospital

Sorry haven't had implants done although I am going to discuss them with her @ my appointment in March. Good luck and let us know who you use and how the quality was.

yes, i had 8 implants done at dental hollywood in soi lengkee about 1yr ago at a cost of $6,000 aussie dollars which included top and bottom false teeth. would have cost $40,000 in australia. the dentist is great ,does a good job. takes about 2mths to heal. it was 100,000 bhat for top and bottom teeth and 4 implants,so they were 20,000 baht each. i then went back 6mths later and had the top 4 implants put in at 80,000 baht. i hope this helps. Price is not the issue, quality is...

But you need to know, that many trips will be needed, this is not a once a year deal

If you can't seem to make it back in a timely fashion, you are wasting time, money and teeth

I had a couple of crowns sorted last week at Pattaya International Hospital on Soi 4,on the top floor.

I didn't ask about the price, just presented my problems and let them crack on with putting it all right. As it turned out the cost was like the service, all good and no complaints from me.

The bloke doing the work was Dr. Bhornbhol Bhuangmalit...a character to say the least.

The main reason I went there was that it was a reputable and significant facility,I assumed their budget was enormous and they would have all the latest kit and technology, unlike some one-man-band operations, where the equipment might be limited.

I agree with the comment about price being secondary to quality of performance. Dentistry, like other health purchases, isn't an area where you look to cut corners to save a few quid, you look for the best quality of service and not for the cheapest suppliers on the block.

The view from the ninth floor is pretty spectacular too, btw.

Yes but they only present the bills when you are on the ground floor!

The last time i had any work done was at Memorial hospital for work on a wisdom tooth, which i had done 24 hours before i flew out to the uk,due to the sudden death of my old man.

X ray confirmed the tooth was non impact, and a few minutes later, with no effort by the lady dentist,my tooth was out, 200 baht and eating 20 minutes later.I couldnt believe how painless and how easy the 40 kilo lady dentist extracted the tooth, couldnt even here cracking roots, and no damage to the gum.

I realy need a couple of fillings to my double teeth, any suggestions,as i dont think its reasonable to go to the hospital for this work.

The place opposite Soi Honey in Soi Boukau is good, one with the sign to the left when entering from Honey.

Had a root canal done at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya by Dr Pattamaporn Tosukhumvong. I was quite impressed. It was an upper tooth so some of the novacaine had to go into the inside of the jaw where there isn't much soft flesh :sh but even that wasn't that bad. No pain during the procedure and no pain after the novacaine wore off.

Does anybody know where Dr Wongsapat Buddhachart has gone? He's done all my work for several years at PIH on Soi 4, but he's now left.

Had a very cursory (it seemed to me) examination, clean and polish, from another bloke there but not as thorough by a mile.
