  1. Good review. Your comment about the corn reminds me of what my Danish grandmother used to say about pumpkin, she considered pumpkin stock feed not suitable for humans as that was what they use them for when she grew up. She worked out how to cook them after a time in Australia. Different cultures, different foods.
  2. You are looking for a genuine locksmith to be able to do that sort of work with any competence. Not sure I have seen anything like that. Might want to try some of the places that sell safes or ask a motorcycle sales yard as they are the most likely to know someone with the required skills. I'm guessing you will need someone who speaks Thai and understands your needs to accompany you to get results.
  3. Technically it is possible, however, the reality is on the side of the cynics. As was pointed out to you on TV there is a minimum number of employees required. The odds swing more in your favour if there is a high ranking local official in the family. This only good while they are in the area and until the next regime change.
  4. I find Fast stone easy to use. I started to use it after Evil's recommendation some time ago. If you want to you can change the name of the file to one suitable for the Trip report as you go eg AugustTR001.jpg, AugustTR002.jpg and so on . It also does a batch of images at a time so you select the ones you are going to use, select the destination, change name if you want press play and they all end up where you want ready for the TR. Your originals are untouched for your use later.
  5. Have you fixed it in a hurry? I tried the link to the forums and got a redirect, closed the window and tried all the other options, all went to where they were supposed to, then tried the forums link and it went to where it was supposed to.
  6. Temporary access for the workers? Those stairs are not yet concrete, we know how much the Thai construction industry loves concrete.
  7. Resize them. There is a range of free software that will do this for you (google is your friend), make the long side between 600 & 800 pixels to be kind to the viewers and save as jpg files. I usually put the new images into a folder called resize to save brain cells remembering which ones are the correct size.
  8. From Pattaya One Any reason for this? Other than it is about time. Are they in negotiations for a new lease?
  9. How to torture a 9 year old; Picture taken at 6am, child told presents will be opened after noon when all the family is there. The present is from cruel older brother and cousin, it is a gift card. The wrapping paper cost almost as much as the present.
  10. If they put the opening hours up the might feel compelled to actually be open at those times. It is a commitment, not something a lot of business owners in Thailand seem to show to their customers.
  11. Be brave, eat from the food carts. What can go wrong? As a tip the ones that have a few other people ordering not chatting or spectating are usually the best ones to try.
  12. In this case right and wrong are subjective. It depends on where you consider normal.
  13. Driving in LA was a challenge for about 10 minutes. The only time I got it wrong was when I was with an English photographer I was working with. If you find Pattaya a challenge, try driving in KL, the bike riders are even crazier. I wanted to make a bumper sticker that "Motorcycle = speed hump". My girlfriend said it would shorten my life dramatically.
  14. As a taxi driver in Perth Western Australia, I find driving in Pattaya and Thailand in general relaxing once you get with the local way of doing things. The good thing is they are supposed to drive on the correct side of the road, the bad thing is when the "rules" go out the window.
  15. Be interested how the ruling wowsers react when they realise what is there.
  16. I was under the impression that English was the language of this forum. We excuse Gabor and others as English is not their first language, but pakwon you claim to have been educated in an English speaking country, Do you think you could demonstrate this?
  17. Testing Test 2 2 2 Test 1 2 2 2 2
  18. That is some persistent testing.
  19. It is not too much of a challenge, look at the Australian soccer league, they have teams in Perth Western Australia and teams in Auckland New Zealand. That is a bigger trip than what the NFL is proposing. There was a Singapore team in the Australian basketball league for a while too. Mind you the number of players and support staff is a lot less than required for a traveling NFL team.
  20. Have taken the bus to and from BKK many times, the different bus stations in BKK for the different final destinations can be a minor challenge but nothing to worry about. I find them an efficient way of getting around. Have also taken buses to many different parts of the wilds of Isan, to Hua Hin and to Puket with no major issue. A great way to see the country. One thing to be aware of are the Thai holidays. Trying to get to Ubon Ratchatani during the songkran holiday can mean waiting for some time at Mor Chit but otherwise I've had few delays or issues. On the longer trips the bus pul
  21. A 12 month multi entry non immigrant O "B" (Business) visa entitled me to 90 days on entry at any immigration post. The panic is for those who are relying on the visa waiver of 30 days, not those with a proper visa.
  22. Any "embarrassing finds" emerging with the lake drying up? One time they allegedly found a couple of bodies.
