On a year around basis, Loei Province's reputation is the "coldest in Thailand." It includes the Phu Rurea and Phu Kradeung ranges and with this week's front from China the temperature dropped below 0 for a brief time a few day's go.

Phew, for a moment there i thought those hairstyles were actual re-creations. It is a good movie. My favorite part was the 5 minutes or so of DeNiro playing the Jewish mobster. That guy can act.

We stopped by right before Christmas. It is a single shop house with a small people watching balcony fronting Soi BuaKhao with a small bar that takes up about half of one side of the shop. It has maybe a half dozen tables along with singles sitting along the bar and opposite the bar. It is sort of a diner style and you couldn't ask for friendlier hosts. I too ordered the "chips" as a starter/appetizer while I waited for a friend and they reminded me of poor frozen french fries but on a positive note a nice English speaking Thai lady who I think was the proprietor's other half brought by so

Yeah, I forgot the actual election wasn't until the following summer. -

The most recent coup in Thailand was September 2006 that deposed Thaksin. The uprisings in 2009/2010 resulted in another disbanding of Parliament and the Abhisit Democrats administration for the elections in July 2011 in which Yingluck became PM. -
Whatever you do with debit cards in Thailand, resolving a problem with your bank will not be one of your fond memories of Thailand. I have not experienced it myself, but there are many (to me) credible stories of folks missing thousands of Baht from their Thai accounts through bank errors notwithstanding the infinite variety of ways to get scammed/cheated by using electronic debit card services. I have taken to using two Thai bank accounts to isolate damage, one account is where I wire transfer funds to/from the West. The second Thai bank account is one I transfer money from the main Tha

Does it involve a small deposit to ensure trust so you can proceed with the millions of dollars of funds left from a Nigerian bank account?

Small electronic cameras are almost disposable these days, many priced well under $100. Contrast that with many smart phones that cost well over $500 (not counting those insane subsidized phone contracts). So I always carry a small camera when walking about and don't often risk taking out the expensive smart phone for typical touristy snaps, especially when there are crowds/I could drop it, or during something like Songkran when water is all about.

The 5 is a year older spec wise than the 5c or 5s. The 5 was released by Apple in September 2012 whereas the c and s were released by Apple last month.

55555, good one. I guess you irritated the shill because you got a red mark for the post so I neutralized it.

I'm a bit younger and the annual premium for me with a 5 million Baht cap for BUPa's Platinum plan is about 70,000 Baht. You can get reasonably close estimates just by trying BUPA's website. https://www.bupa.co.th/en/individuals/health-insurance/individual/detail.aspx?iid=1#.UfvwYm26m-U I bought my policy through them at their Convent Road Bangkok office.

Yeah, that is similar to the US. But my observations have been (about Hispanics any way) that by the 3rd generation they have mostly assimilated into the general population/culture; so much so that the most conservative and fervent anti-illegal alien groups seem to be the 3rd generations who often question why anyone should get for free what their parents fought and sacrificed for. Hmmmm ... semi-solid congealed loaf. That is almost as appetizing as Taco Bell refried beans dispensed by those toothpaste-like tubes.

I used to think that, but last month the burger I had at Bully's was crap. Another nearby place that used to have decent American food was the Big Mango, but it too has lost the plot. Sad really, it is a race to the bottom for both Bully's and the Big Mango. Seems like both owners just lost interest.

Except they got there from Asia across the frozen Bering Strait. So maybe noodles and rice is "American" food.

For me, the best American restaurant in Bkk, especially if you like Cajun style, is Bourbon Street, now at Ekkamai.

Not much of the cholesterol in eggs is absorbed by humans. Eggs are a great and cheap source of vitamins and protein and unless you are downing dozens per day ... of no significance to your bad cholesterol.

Thanks for taking the time to post the thread. It is a good reminder to at least specify the quality of vehicle and service expected and it provides recent experience with the often recommended T fellow who may no longer be involved in a hands on capacity.

Three expatriates are drinking in a NY City bar. "As good as this is," said the Scotsman, "I still prefer the pubs back home. In Glasgow, there's a wee place called McTavish's. The landlord goes out of his way for the locals. When you buy four drinks, he'll buy the fifth." "Well, Angus," said the Englishman, "At my local pub in London, the Red Lion, the barman will buy you your third drink after you buy the first two." "Ahhh, dat's nothin'," said the Irishman, "Back home in my favorite pub, the moment you set foot in the place, they'll buy you a drink, then another, all the drinks you li

10 Guinness An American walks into an Irish pub and says, "I'll give anyone $100 if they can drink 10 Guinness in 10 minutes." Most people just ignore the absurd bet and go back to their conversations. One guy even leaves the bar. A little while later that guy comes back and asks the American, "Is that bet still on?" "Sure." So the bartender lines 10 Guinness up on the bar the Irishman drinks them all in less than 10 minutes. As the American hands over the money he asks, "Where did you go when you left?" The Irishman answers, "I went next door to the other pub to see if I could do it."
