Dont bother with the insurance they try to sell you, as said above its theft only. I took out cover for damage to other vehicles and also for passengers from the German Swiss group in Naklua road, Naklua. worth it for the peace of mind

Live Music Venues in Pattaya ...

"Rolling Stone Bar (forgotten the new name) was really rocking a couple of nights ago" They changed the name on all their bars to Rolling Live, maybe copyright problems? The one in soi8 has two bands one early and the second later around 10.30p -
i hope the furniture goes with it as any woman could easily spend 5 million furnishing it

While it is the name of the Bell, it is commonly used to refer to the clock.

" Also, what pisses me off are the arseholes driving huge 4x4's up and down Soi's like 6,7 & 8 that any busy with pedestrians just because they can " yes, outside daylight hours ALL cars should be made to use Pattaya Klang for West bound travel and Soi 9 for Eastbound. no reason to use 7 and 8 at all.

Are you sure about the board name? I am a member on that board and did a member search with no result?

"Get an EMLA patch from a pharmacy or the doctor and put it on your sack a couple hours before the procedure." Sounds like a great idea to me. Never felt the op and post op wasn't too bad but the injection in the nuts was hell !!!

If u go to Crystal palace gogo in Angeles they have a troupe of six girls ,The Spinners, who do this every night. One girl drops from the top of the pole, face down, to the floor and only uses her legs to stop. For the finale the six of them spin at the same time, well woth seeing -

I do laugh every time a thai tells me how. much they love their country. Love? perhaps but no respect for their environment -
Three insurance issues . Travel insurance, many companies only let u have upto 125cc, some make u have a licence in your own country as well as in thailand, and some wont cover you Local health cover for hospitals, I Have the travel so dont use it. Pattaya expats have a policy cover Bike and accident. You can take out insurance to repair yor bike, pay for damage to other propery, cover medical for passengers etc I used the German Thai group in pattaya.

I have been riding for almost 50 years now, the last eight in Pattaya and i also have a bike in Australia still. There is no doubt that a bike gives u so many options for travel but the downside is the danger. you say u have a home licence so u can already ride? My thought would be to hire a bike, get an experienced friend to take u somewhere quiet, like on the darkside and practice. Don't forget hospital insurance though, you might need it.

The Mayor of Davao had a go at them yesterday as well. Apparently they wouldnt let 911 emergency personnel attend the scene, kept the passengers isolated on the runway. -
Looks nice, I looked at renting at cosy beach some years ago, I really like the beach. the only hassle is the lack of public use transport if you dont ride/drive. "With the 1/2 size fridge its only good for rentals." Ok for me, apart from coffee and toast at breakfast, I eat out all the time. My fridge is usually empty

Austhai, I have two friends who holiday here regularly, both bought second hand bikes and store them at friends houses. Both use travel insurance and both their policies exclude bikes over 125cc, thats why I mentioned it. Thanks for your wisdom though !!
-
Just a word of caution, if you are on a travel insurance policy many of them exclude bikes over 125cc.

I have been here since wednesday, just got back to pattaya an hour ago and it wasnt good. From my hotel window on the 8th floor I was not able to see the hills at all. We were there two days and my GF started getting nasal problems and headaches from the continual nose blowing. We went to Doi suthep one day and there is no view, you can only see as far as the closest buildings at the bottom of the mountain, everything else is covered by smog. I wanted to hire a motorbike and head to the hills, but there is no point. This happens every year so the locals will never change their habits -

"Mr Prayat said the centre has instructed all upper northern provinces to keeps monitoring the air quality as for other provinces." Wouldnt it be more useful to take steps to eliminate the problem, rather than just monitoring it? -
