"The first round of the FMI world championships will be held 30 minutes from Pattaya 8th - 10th March 2013" sounds good, are you able to say where it is and provide directions please?

A different Pharmacy Question
biggles replied to kosman's topic in Doctors, Dentists, Clinics and Hospitals
I have medication for Glaucoma and I also use Fascino on Pattaya north road. One of the eye drops is often difficult to get but they always have a couple of bottles in and will order if I need it. I also have the discount card. the eye drops are actually slightly cheaper than I pay for them in Australia. -
Nice one, thanks for taking the time

It wasn't so much the transfer to the van I was trying to avoid, it was that the van only does the trip 3 times a day, which is very hard to fit in with a flight time.

I go to their pattaya office and book myself and from the airport I nearly always use the "other" bus service as my place is quite close to suk road and pattaya klang. Bell tend to stop running a bit too early for me so the other bus is better. I also used them for many years without a problem but the new booking arrangement online sounds like a pain. I often had similar problems with cebu pacific air trying to book.

i already had a box from my previous bike but I bought a rack at the bike shop opposite Big C Extra on pattaya klang, just around the corner from home. Fitted it free for me right away. I think it was around 600-650 baht

For Sale Honda Click i Fuel Injection Year 2011
biggles replied to PoolHustler's topic in The Market
if its the compulsory insurance you get when you pay the road tax then its only to cover injury to passengers. It only has a limited amount of cover as well. You need to take you separate cover to insure against damage to your bike, or other vehicles.also probably best to increase your passeger cover as well. I bought a brand new 125cc Click for 46,000 so it seems a little pricy to me as well. -
I am always surprised at the guts shown by guys who come to pattaya and their mobility is so bad they have to use wheelchairs/scooters. Its damn hard to walk around this place, it must be hell on any type of wheelchair or scooter to get around here.

Do you spend many nights alone in Pattaya?
biggles replied to Butch's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I have been in pattaya for a long time now and so my lifestyle needs have changed a little. I have a few regulars so my pattern is usually a ST on night one, a LT on night two (with a morning session) and sleep alone on night three. This way I get a boom boom every day but my costs are reduced and I dont have to put up with thai women all the time !! I have now found myself a really lovely filipina and will bring her back to pattaya again for a couple of months so this is going to change for me. -
I agree that its a lot of f....g around and I did get spoiled with travel to Swampy. However, I can get a return to australia (two single tickets) for around $5-600, if I keep an eye out for their promos. I do this twice a year and the major airlines want $800 for a one way ticket or upto to $1500 for a return ticket valid for six months. I will wear the slight inconvenience to save that sort of ST money !!

"No attempt to replace the food, refund the food or anything else." I wouldn't expect the waitress to do anything about it, its not the thai way to make problems or to criticise the work of other staff. They just hope you will go away and stop bothering them. I believe Pete has a manager on duty at all times as he cannot be there 24/7. You shouldn't need to if the place is run right and the staff will make the right decisions, but it would have paid to ask to speak to the manager directly.

another alternative from pattaya is to get a bus from pattaya north bus station to Mor Chit bus station (134 baht about 2 to 2 and a half hours) then get a taxi from bus station to DMK (125 baht, 20 mins). There are taxis waiting right where you get off the Mor Chit bus. the bus to Mor Chit leaves pattaya every 40 minutes

"Ironically enough, when I returned home Big Bang Theory was on with the episode about The Ring they found in a box." Now thats a great Sitcom, great characters and well played.

lots of furnished apartments off soi buakaow for this price, mate has one with cable, air con and a very big room for 5000 a month. But you have to take for the month at least.

Ruen Thai is good value, nice decor, good entertainment and not expensive prices. Its been open for a while, I have been going there for around six years. Its set well back from the road so you dont notice it easily.

You sure they weren't rats???

I bought some milk, break and stepsils a few days ago and I got 68 baht credit for the 68 stamps I had with me.

I did the run from pattaya north bus station to Don Muang yesterday. I caught the 9.50am bus to Mor Chit bus station, cost 133 baht and it took around 2 hrs 30 mins. I caught a taxi outside the terminal, meter was 105 baht and took around 20 minutes, a very good run. No great dramas at the airport, only two people in the immigration queue (tho the counter guy said it did get busy) and no one at security waiting. I would certainly recommend it as a way to get there. If you dont want the expense of a taxi its probably a more flexible option than the bell bus service van.

mates wife brought documented proof of pension from australia to the bank, she is an australian resident but thai citizen. He has a war service pension (Vietnam) and she gets a wifes pension, which continues even if he dies. They were not interested, but if she had a cleaners job for 4500 a month then that would be ok, strange logic.

"Thailand banks are even less flexible with loans, and they do require proof of income to show you can service the loan. Assets or equity in the property is not generally a consideration." Mate had exactly the same problem with his wife trying. she has a 30k a month pension from australia but the bank wouldnt lend her 2 million baht because she had no permanent job. they seem to be very inflexible.

didnt the original have problems with the crew when they got to hawaii... no one wanted to leave. !!

Note that the 1620 travel tax is only payable by filipinos leaving the country not foreigners. The Terminal fee is paid to the airport, not the airline. You left off the baggage charges which will also apply.

Its also worth trying their Pad Thai, very tasty.
