  1. How old is your PC? Motherboards nowadays have quite decent on-board audio. I haven't used a dedicated sound-card for a long time
  2. Yep, but it's in the Airline Discussion sub-forum and the thread was started about the effect of a "No Deal Brexit" on flights, not on house prices!!!
  3. The bassist on this song is Patricia Morrison, she went on to play bass with The Damned between 1997 and 2004 - she married Dave Vanian (lead singer of The Damned)... I've talked to her and Dave Vanian after a few Damned gigs I've been to ..... Nice lady!!!
  4. What has house prices got to do with Airlines????
  5. Yep..... I used to use Speaker systems designed for PC (like the Creative ones) but they had a bad habit of failing on me and I've used my Rotel/Kef combination for over 10 years without a single problem. Had the Rotel amp spare after upgrading to an Arcam Amp and Arcam CD player for listening to my CDs. It's easy enough to find a cable to connect a PC to a normal stereo amp.
  6. I run a couple of Kef Speakers through a old Rotel Stereo amp fed off my PC rather than PC speakers.... much better quality sound.
  7. This topic is in the "Airline Discussion" forum. Perhaps it would be better moved down to "Politics and "Religion" if it's going to be turned into a wider discussion of Brexit...
  8. Your friend needs to be told about never making plans when visiting Thailand, and especially Pattaya!!!
  9. Cheers for your continuing efforts Frosty...... :thumbup
  10. Do you use cashback sites like http://www.topcashback.co.uk ??? They're paying out £9.45 cashback on long haul flight bookings(todays rate) if you click through to Travel Trolley with them. I've had about £200 cashback this year using topcashback.co.uk.... Best deal I had was with my house insurance...... £70 cashback on a £125 building and contents policy
  11. I've used Travel Trolley twice with no problems what so ever....
  12. I stopped flying with Emirates when they started charging for selecting seats ahead of check-in on the "el cheapo" fares. As long as Qatar keep that option I'll stick to flying with them....
  13. When I've booked with Travel Trolley once I've got the Qatar reference number I just log into my booking with Qatar and picked our seats without any problems... Same with the other agencies I've used.
  14. I've had no problems booking via an agent, and no problems for things like seat selection...... Last year my daughter was due to fly to Thailand to spend 2 weeks gaining work experience at a maternity hospital in Phitsanulok. She is currently doing a midwifery degree. Sadly the placement got cancelled 10 days before her flight..... Her flight tickets with Etihad were "non-refundable" cheapies..... the travel agent she booked with obtained a full refund for her, she would not have got that if she'd booked directly with Etihad.
  15. I use a mixture of both and use Cashback links before making my actual booking . I do plenty of researching the options before doing the actual booking. My October trip was booked using Traveltrolley via a cashback link, but my internal flights in Thailand was via Thai Airways and Bangkok Airways websites.
  16. Latest news is the upgrade to A350 has been brought forward to the 1st October!!! https://www.routesonline.com/news/38/airlineroute/280117/qatar-airways-accelerates-a350-manchester-service-to-early-oct-2018/
  17. Surprised the BIB haven't started a crackdown on the squirrel terrorists after all the harm they're causing to Pattaya...
  18. Careful, we're going off-topic.... accyboy was enquiring about Bunion surgery in Thailand..... Prior to being offered treatment at a private hospital, but funded by the NHS I was actually starting to think about getting the injections done in Thailand... I would have to pay of course, but at least I would get the treatment...... It's hilarious that the cost of my treatment is a fraction of the cost to the UK taxpayers who still have to pay my salary when I get signed off sick due to the back pain...... the company I work owned by and funded by the UK government
  19. The NHS in the UK is becoming a joke at the moment...... For the last 4 years I've been having injections in my lower back to ease lower back pain.... Been diagnosed with 2 badly bulging discs, one prolapsed disc and also facet joint arthritis..... earlier this year I was told funding had been withdrawn for those type of injections. After a visit to my GP to seek advice about what can be done 2 months later I am told attend an appointment at a Private hospital as the NHS were willing to fund my treatment at a private hospital, but they won't fund it at an NHS hospital... Private hospital w
  20. You can make several calls with a 100 baht top-up....
  21. That's what I do every trip. We use my mobile as a hot-spot when up at our house.
  22. She tried to enter on an expired Swedish passport and when that was refused she suddenly produces a valid Iranian one.... They only offered her entry for 96 hours which would have meant her having to pay the cost of changing flights for her and her daughter.... That's probably the point at which she lost her temper........ Interesting that it took so long for the papers to pick up on the story as it happened on the 13th July....
  23. I went to see Rowan Atkinson on stage in 1980..... That was while he was part of the "Not the Nine O'clock News" gang...... He was brilliant on-stage....
