Please help defray the forum costs by booking with us

Recommended Posts

In order to help defray the cost of the forum, since this board is independent of any bar or business, please make hotel bookings with Residence Garden or through the AGODA HOTEL BOOKING link or the similarly named subforum in the open section.

Price came up as 1529 / night for this week. They add 29 baht to the 1500 FLB rate

I may not have been clear on my request.

I said "please make hotel bookings with Residence Garden or through the AGODA HOTEL BOOKING link"...that "or" is really important.

Book directly with RG OR use Agoda for anywhere else.

In other words, please don't book RG via Agoda. RG gets less money for the booking and they are our only advertiser, and I'd like to keep them happy.

You also save 29 baht!!!! :P

It's actually a renamed section that used to be the Hotel Reviews that no one has updated since 2012.

If you want to book RG, it's available almost always through the banner ad at the top of each page. There is one there for Agoda as well, but it shows up rather infrequently.

What's your issue here? Not sure I really get your question.

I think it roughly translates as, "if it`s not crispy then I`m not interested"

If you write to Da and Ib directly (having stayed there four times in the past) and ask for the RG rate for FLB do you get credit, MM?

I found that if I failed to mention the FLB rate (which once happened in error) they did not deliver the FLB rate so now I mention it and the fact I have stayed there before.

I hope that works. I am retiring end of July and before the year ends I will come back to Pattaya for maybe a couple months.

RG is not commission based. They have been long-standing supporters of the FLB customers by advertising revenue.

So it does not matter if we mail them directly or use the link here ?

Not to the forum, as long as you tell them you'd like the FLB rate.

Just a reminder that using Agoda through the link at http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/forum/21-agoda-hotel-booking/ can usually save you money on hotel bookings (anywhere in the world), and also helps pay for the costs of the forum by providing a small commission for each booking.

Does that include hotel bookings anywhere in the world, and not just Pattaya?

Yes, anywhere that Agoda does bookings!!

Now, more than ever, with the loss of the RG advertising revenue, the Agoda link becomes this forums ONLY source of revenue.

Please use our link if you are planning travel and Agoda rates are satisfactory to you.

Just used the Agoda link, all worked fine.

Have a loom for the International Fireworks Competition.

A friend was telling me of a trick for Agoda, it seems the price he was being quoted varied depending on his IP address location.

Confirmed using a VPN.

Didn't try it myself, I am such a LDOP!

If you book through agoda, and you click the banner ad when it shows up, a small commission goes to this board once you've departed from your stay. I can't tell who booked, but for all those that have, I thank you.

It's been about a year now, and I'm going to get the first commission payment for $200 in a few days. That will pay for almost 2 months of the server...after 1 year, that's not self-sustaining, but if you guys keep using it, it helps!

I see in a prior post it was mentioned that you can save a bit on the room rate as well as giving the board a commission. Having just booked a room using the Agoda link I can give everyone a good example of the savings.

The booking was for:

Before clicking on the Agoda link:

After:

Savings much appreciated as I was booking five rooms for our group.

I will try it from the link next time I book but rarely find booking websites cheaper than direct but happy to try again

Many places are not permitted to offer prices 'direct' that are cheaper than the big booking agents, for fear they are removed from their listings.

I have heard of extras being offered by way of an attraction.

When booking at the resort I had asked them if they wanted me to book direct due to the number of rooms I needed. They said to use Agoda, probably b/c it's saves them having to have an in house reservation system. In this case though, Agoda's system is shit for handling multi room bookings unless the property happens to have enough room types in one category for the number of rooms one wishes to reserve. That not being the case I had to book each of the five rooms as a separate reservation, which made the reservation process take five times longer.

Just a heads-up.

I've been having trouble using the forum's Agoda link.

This is what I get:

attachicon.gifagoda_fail.jpg

I can get into the Agoda site by entering the URL into Firefox, but not through the forum.

Using Chrome I see the following displayed for about a second, but then the redirect to Agoda happens successfully.
