Got to Banglamung Post Office, and they said it's not there. It's in the Pattaya City post office down by the Floating Market!

Stopping at Bei Gerhard restaurant in Naklua, then off to south of Jomtien to track that sucker down.

Dealing with some forum issues this morning...particularly regarding the use of the reputation system.

I'm in a bad mood because a red light has lit up on the coffee machine, and it only brews half a cup. The manual is in Thai, so I have to wait for the missus to wake up and determine the problem.

Plan for today is to go down to the Banglamung post office where I have a tiny package that they didn't deliver from Aliexpress. The tracking info says they "carded" (i.e. left a card in my mailbox) the delivery, but that is bullshit. We got nothing in the post indicating an attempt to deliver was made. Since this was on April 17, in the midst of Pattaya Songkran, it's my guess the postman just stayed somewhere dry and carded every damned package.

Not a good start to the day.

I managed to find a manual in English for my Saeco coffee maker on the internet...... still have it in 'My Documents' and the bloody machine packed in ages ago. First problem was a simple gasket/O-ring for the water container, I think I paid $20+ to have one sent from the USA. Then the heater packed in and that was a more serious repair. Thought about a new one until I saw how much they were! Back to the drip coffee maker. That old machine made a great cup of Joe, it ground the beans freshly too. I made a double serving into a beaker, then frothed up some full cream milk with the steam jet and poured it on top.. I miss that coffee... I used to jump out of bed early as I couldn't wait some mornings!

A bit of a coincidence in that I also got a carded bullshit message from the postman a while back.. he was never anywhere near the bloody house.

Been to the pharmacy, then to Nerm Plub plink-plonk-wan market and got some nor-mai (bamboo shoots... stuff with pork meat, dip in flour then tempura batter and deep fry, serve with a chilli tamarind dip-sauce..yummy)..then to immigration, lunchtime, so killed an hour with a massage. Then did my 90day reporting. Not fast considering I have the bar-code, about 10 before me and a 15-20 minute wait. The job is done by a couple of young girls now. Internet next time! Then to BigC to buy a new mouse, crappy things must have a shut-down 12 month timer in them! Why do they employ so many goof-balls in there, 75 percent of them are just pissing around on their phones.

I got them little vinegar flies buzzing all around me here at the house and they are doing my head in!

My Saeco put in near 11 years at FLB before moving to it's new home.

I'm surprised it still works. On the manual issue, I haven't found one for my ancient model yet.

I've had to resort to buying coffee again!

The missus will figure it out, I hope. Otherwise we have to carry it forth and back to Naklua.

A good cup of freshly brewed coffee is a must in the morning. I know it maybe sounds sad, but I always bring a small cafeteria and some ground coffee with me. I cant start the day without a fix and I hate instant coffee.

Just finished my second cup of 3 in 1 coffee. Getting ready to shower and go to my favorite cafe and have breakfast, then grocery shopping. I've been looking for a job (UGH) to supplement my coffers for my moving to Thailand this fall. If something doesn't pop up soon, I'm going to pack it in, sell everything and make the move. Tired of cold weather, rain and yes even some snow now and then. The weather is getting better, so might get out to do some fishing. Just keep thinking about living in Thailand full time and the great time I had during the 5 weeks I was there in Feb/Mar. I'm very tired of the bullshit here in the good old USA. Every day is getting me closer to "Living the Dream"!!!!!

As for the coffee maker, try unplugging it for a while. Sometimes, that will "reboot" the internal computer so that you're back to step one. I have to do that sometimes with my K-Cup coffee machine. Once in while it wants to brew a half a cup only, even though it's set for a large cup.

Tried that...left it off for hours.

I fear it's another trip to Naklua lugging that thing, and then a second trip to pick it up after they "fix" it.

BTW, the problem is exactly the same problem that was evident before I took it in to be serviced...3 weeks ago.

Instant coffee tomorrow :angry2

I just finished cooking a chicken korma on my night off. I'm now lying here wondering when Mrs Egg will pounce on me.

Did you change your night off?

Best regards to Mrs. Egg.

And I'm trying to decide whether to go out or stay in and watch a movie. I've hit WS the last 4 nights, so I think it might be a good day for a night at home.

Meanwhile, Mrs. M is cooking us a salmon steak, steamed broccoli, and Milano risotto for dinner, so that should stuff me enough I won't even think about going out after.

Monday is always a night in and cook at home for me.

Never did rain after threatening all day and a hot sticky start.

Trouble is with this weather I am always gagging for a cold one by 5pm and the first one doesn't touch the sides.

Had to keep fishing the daft turtle out of the pool......... she is 'in season' I guess.

Put the UK world championship snooker on my computer and watched that until bed-time.

Just been on the receiving end of a fearsome bollocking from Mrs Butch. Apparently sending pics of myself by the pool drinking beer is not on, especially when she's shitting herself while a typhoon is hitting the village.

Easy day today..... ride to Jomtiem to sign some paperwork at my lawyers office.

Was heading south up Sukhumvit on the bike and couldn't get across to the right to turn down soi Watboon. Bloody traffic.

Stopped for a haircut on Soi Siam CC on the way back... the guy in the other chair was talking at near shouting level to the young barber who just chucked in the odd 'krap'.... to be polite. Then the guy stumped me by talking to me in pretty good English, although he was a bit nosey.

Changed to the truck and went to buy beer.

Watched UK election results coming in for a bit.

Cooler and cloudy now..... I felt like I had been in a sauna when I arrived in Jomtiem earlier.

I just woke up at 2pm after a fitful night attending to the small bladder of a puppy that we were given last month. I'm almost to the point where she's housebroken, but now she's starting to find garbage receptacles so interesting, I've also been putting them up on table tops to keep them away from her.

In spite of my best efforts, after I awakened at 2pm, while I was on the computer, the puppy, who was sleeping in the bed with the missus, decided to just cut the whole process short on peed on my side of the bed, since it was nicely unoccupied.

MM, This may be the answer to your problematic coffee maker;

http://www.udonmap.com/udonthaniforum/coffee-machine-for-sale-t36626.html

I have a dash cam that I bought from Lazada. A friend of mine had a look at it and asked me if I would order one for him. I did order the camera and normally things are delivered in three or four days. This time it has been more than a week and I was notified that the item had been delivered. If it was delivered, it was delivered to someone else. I never received it. Kerry Express has been good in the past but it appears that the driver is a lazy bastard and delivers to one or the other small gas stations near my house. The gas stations do not have the item and I don't know where it was delivered. I emailed Lazada and asked them where my order is at. I told them that I had NOT signed for the last three orders. I knew the service was too good to last. TIT !!

Thursday night was my last shift at work before my holiday and I'm now off for 4 weeks. Today will be spent sorting out what clothes need washing for my trip to Thailand. I'll also be spending some time checking out flight prices for a trip in October.

A few days ago I submitted my letter to the personnel department informing them of my wish to retire on my normal retirement date which is 2nd August this year. Life changing year ahead for myself.

Nursing a cracked rib (or two).

I was driving through Stoke-on-Trent and passed by a most beautiful field of rapeseed crop in full bloom. I asked my friends to stop the car and let me out to take a picture (to send to a girl back in the USA I have been chatting with...hoping to move on to the next level).

So I jumped out and ran over to the field and took this nice photo with my iphone. Happy as a clam, I turned and trotted back to the car. Just as I reached the end of the grass I tripped over something and flew face down towards the pavement. My iphone went for a spin and I managed block the fall with my hands.

My right elbow tucked into my rib cage and I pretty sure that is what done my ribs in. I also bloodied my right palm and knee pretty good. needless to say the flight home was uncomfortable and it's hard to get a good night's sleep.

At least I didn't lose any teeth or break a wrist.

They say not to mix the pain killers with alcohol. I'm thinking it helps to have a nice bourbon.

This is what happens when you get smitten. The fuckers get you, one way or another.

Sailfast! Commiserations. I tend to be in the UK if It is my year to go there in June. The fields of rape look spectacular but I blame to stuff for giving me the most dreadful doses of hay fever and this seems to last as long as I am in the UK. Never happened when I was a kid but then again there was very little grown then. By the way and for the squeamish I think that this can safely be called Canola now.

I never knew that's what they made canola oil from. Interesting.
