The bigger question is how long will it be before Thailand permits travellers from the UK to enter? And to enter without quarantine!!!

Was watching a TV show this morning and it seems a lot of people are willing to accept quarantine on return as long as they get their 2 weeks holiday in Benidorm!!!!

Probably because they expect to be paid for staying home and doing nothing!

Think the UK is taking a very myopic view of things

expounding about creating these with selected countries, cant see how countries (like LOS) with minuscule numbers of covid19 cases would embrace an entente cordiale with such a diseased partner

Would they not face 14 days quarantine when the arrive in Spain ?

I think the quarantine thing will be knocked on the head, Rawhide mentioned it earlier and I'm inclined to agree with him.

On the form, just put that you're an Uber or Lorry / delivery driver, then you are effectively exempt. they have no way of checking if you state that you are self employed, the resource just is not there.

I'd be more concerned with turning up in LOS, then being at the mercy of the Thermometer Nazis who might stick you in a state sanctioned hotel for 2 weeks with a worn out copy of Razzle from 1985.

Personally I hope they give it a little longer, seems like Thailand finds some infected people in their quarantine daily. I would have thought people would need to get back to work after returning to the UK.

That's not quite what El Pais is reporting.

https://english.elpais.com/spanish_news/2020-06-14/spain-will-reopen-borders-to-eu-states-on-june-21-prime-minister-pedro-sanchez-tells-regional-chiefs.html

Travelers from outside the European Union and the Schengen free-travel area will be permitted to enter Spain from July 1, the prime minister explained, provided there is a reciprocal agreement on travel and taking into account the epidemiological situation in the country of origin, among other factors. The United Kingdom and Ireland are outside Schengen.

I'd think a Thailand airbridge is a long way off.

Spain however are desperate for British holiday makers and Boris wants to please the masses. I'd expect an agreed airbridge with no quarantine eather going out or coming back to be agreed by both countries quite quickly. Benidorm will be full of Brits by August.

Government sources confirmed on Sunday evening that despite having left the bloc earlier this year, the United Kingdom is still considered an EU member state given that it is in a transition period and enjoys full membership rights. This means that UK travelers will also be able to enter Spain from June 21.

The end of this week.....

Effectively only 9 days earlier than planned though.....

Seems premature although if what Bazle posted is true, a far different case. There is still a threat in this virus.

Thanks. El Pais (which is what you have quoted) has changed its story!
