  1. Yes, the dentists in Australia are certainly scared that patients are going O/S for cheaper treatment. And Thailand can afford to get their dentists trained in the same manner as ours are, and do that.
  2. Then you can pay the ridiculous prices charged in Australia - no worries! I, however, know that many of the highly trained dentists in Thailand were trained in Australia, and that the King contributed a lot of money for this to happen, as he saw that dental health in Thailand was on the decline some years ago. I have never had a bad job done on my teeth in LOS, but HAVE had some in Australia.
  3. Why did you obscure the email address, phone number and website address? Now I can't send my trusting remittance.
  4. Gabor, thanks for the review. Maybe you haven't had Puff Pastry on a pie before, but that is quite normal in Australia. Short Crust pastry is usually used for the base and puff pastry for the top.
  5. Why didn't one of you guys (above) just post Nam's website as a recommendation. See here: http://www.namstaxipattaya.com
  6. Sad news indeed (for me). I am only in Patts once a year these days, but enjoyed the Wok N Rock food immensely. Thanks for the experience.
  7. I also think they should be in the bathroom, but I have stayed in hotels all over the world and this is pretty common. I just wondered why anyone would think that swans on the bed would be normal, particularly when they are made of towel material. You have learnt much on this trip, Chester, and your next one will be much easier (or will it?).
  8. Chester said, "Not towels either (Edit: Seems there are towels). Didn't notice what the two swans with necks forming a heart were made out of our towels. Trust a female to figure that one out.!!!" You are taking the piss, aren't you?
  9. Personally, I just love doing the horizontal haka; it gives my tongue some real exercise.
  10. Bugger, Martin! I know you are working really hard to sort all this out, and I haven't said much about the issues. However everyone else has noticed the same issues and there have been other statements about them, and you have quickly reacted and are slowly overcoming them. Thanks for all the hard work - we really appreciate it.
  11. Where do you find this stuff. Beach Road (Coconut Bar) is not about to change.
  12. Good idea, MM. It should be the cheapest night you've ever had.... Have fun, guys.
  13. Saw this on another site. Just had to repost (thanks to the original poster). ENGLAND PREPARING FOR THE FINALS:
  14. Damn, that time it did hang up for quite awhile and I had to refresh to get it through, so I have no ideas whatsoever.
  15. I just posted and it went straight through correctly. I then edited my post just to see if it hung up, but the edit also went straight on. I use Safari browser on my Mac.
  16. You took me by surprise there. I didn't see a price for "Come with egg fried/boiled rice or chips", but then realised it was part of the offer, and not another dish....
  17. Thanks, lkkrang, I am so glad the business is doing well - a friend used her service and thanked me for putting him onto her; he enjoyed the trip between Pattaya and Swampy for the first time ever.
  18. Hmm, Springboks? Well done Japan!
  19. Chester, this is what I said, "In any case, if you did that, even 2 years prior, I'd think you were an arsehole." I stand by that. However I was not calling you an arsehole, because obviously it wasn't you who committed the crime, but in any case, I would have called you that if it had been you, and I wouldn't be on my own.
  20. Yes Gary, but I think - a diesel 4x4 with a snorkel. Even high gasoline 4x4s can stall, due to water ingress into ignition system and water ingress to air intake.
  21. Have a look at the page, post #18, and look at the last sentence or two): http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/topic/64732-my-dental-experience/
  22. Well, I for one, am happy the thieving bastards got caught. That is a high lunch bill and, if it was a 'forgetful error', the diners should have forwarded the money to the resort by mail (with an apology). Staff members would most likely have had to make up the shortfall. If you think it is a bit over the top, Chester, try it and see what happens.... In any case, if you did that, even 2 years prior, I'd think you were an arsehole.
