  1. "They aren't available here in LOS, and I'm rather fond of them." Ha Ha Ha - Apparently they don't work: http://www.snopes.com/risque/aphrodisiacs/altoids.asp
  2. Peculiar post above. Australian Broadcasting Commission (ABC) has published this: Qantas has again topped a ranking of global air safety, with Jetstar on the list of safest low-cost carriers and Virgin Australia also in the top rung of airlines. Australian-based website AirlineRatings.com put Qantas top of the list based on a range of factors, including aviation authority audits and the carriers' fatality records. Having had no fatalities during the jet era made Qantas a standout, said AirlineRatings editor and aviation journalist Geoffrey Thomas. "Qantas has been the lead airline in virtually every major advancement in airline safety over the past 60 years," he noted in the report. The chairman of Strategic Aviation Solutions, analyst Neil Hansford, told ABC News Online that Qantas throughly deserves its number one ranking. "It's very hard for anybody to approach them, they've never lost a paying passenger," he said. Other carriers in the top ten, in alphabetical order, are: Air New Zealand, Cathay Pacific Airways, British Airways, Emirates, Etihad Airways, EVA Air, Finnair, Lufthansa and Singapore Airlines. The top ten low-cost carriers in alphabetical order are: Aer Lingus, Alaska Airlines, Icelandair, Jetstar, Jetblue, Kulula.com, Monarch Airlines, Thomas Cook, TUI Fly and Westjet. I guess you cut and posted SOME of the results, but left out Qantas. (???) Edit: Oh, I meant to add, ABC might not be able to work it out alphabetically though....
  3. I reckon Cathay is a great airline, but don't blame me if it crashes....
  4. Thanks for this. I enjoyed the photos. I was down at the Cambodian border a few months ago (Preah Vihear) and I read the sign that stated you were not to photograph the military ramparts. According to my lady, it is feared the Cambodians may start shelling again if they know where all the military 'dig-ins' are - they did shell a primary school a little further north towards Sisaket (only 5 minutes away from the temple site) where a number of Thai kids were killed, so Thais are understandably quite nervous about it. Apparently, it is for a similar reason visitors are not to approach the temple - Cambodians have threatened to shoot them (a .50 Cal sniper bullet will do it from way down in the valley). On the other hand, visits are still made there for particular privileged VIPs, with a military escort.
  5. Another great lot of photos - Thanks, Mate!
  6. Hmm, laws in Thailand would prohibit this, and understandably, but yeah, a great idea.
  7. Thanks, Mate. Lovely photos with some lovely girls. Great teeth.
  8. Yeah, looks like a good party. Maybe a couple of good barfines there too - maybe....
  9. I am a real novice with this stuff, as I really only download music. However, I like the site I use and movies, DVDs etc are available. The site I use is VUZE. I guess most have used it, or perused it, and have better site options - I don't know. There is a free membership option for trial, but it costs a membership if further, faster use is wanted.
  10. Fosters eh? That just put me right off. We export Fosters so we only keep the (mainly) good beers here in Aust., and give England the shit stuff.
  11. Thanks for your reply (above), PoolHustler. Now I know and will take this into account. So, any damage to bikes - even though I don't expect it, it can happen easily when parked - will obviously be payable from the deposit.
  12. Mate, I've followed your advertising posts for a long time, and I think you offer a good deal. I have particularly read each advert for cars and have noted that you always mention the full rental insurance on each. What I have looked for and hoped to see, is any info at all about what, if any insurance is included (or available) on your bikes. Can you please enlighten me?
  13. Made my day!
  14. Even Nok airlines have free wifi at Don Muang, also (at least) some of their other destinations. In Australia, Qantas, Jetstar, Virgin etc. have free wifi at the airports. Need to get a password for some, but for others, you just use info from your boarding pass.
  15. Cool images! Make me a bit dizzy, though.
  16. Sorry I can't be there, any year in December. Fantastic work and I wish you all luck. I personally visit an orphanage each trip to LOS and take a load of vegetables, canned and fresh milk, babies needs, bottled water, etc. and don't usually tell my friends about it - it certainly makes me feel a lot better for the small contribution.
  17. I know we have a thread somewhere on here about this guy, but I know not where (sorry). I avoid him as much as possible, but, I came across this video based on the last stuff I read on here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBUj-wT7CkE#t=183
  18. Yeah Mate, sorry if it sounded as though I was criticising your post, but the orange stuff scared me. I always enjoy your critiques of the various eateries in Pattaya and they always give me some new insights for my next visit.
  19. Those shots are fantastic. My mouth started to salivate at the sight of the meals (all of them).
  20. What the Hell is that orange shit in your steak sandwich? Also, the chips in the other sandwich look a bit dry and overcooked to me. These shots of the food are not in the same class as previous ones (at least to me).
  21. I've used Macs since they first came out - many years now - and when I worked in a University, I had AV installed (a requirement). Now I am retired, and have been for nearly 10 years. In that time I have not installed any AV programs, although Apple have their own that would inform me if I had a virus (I believe??). I have never experienced any virus problems either.
  22. Sorry; but I think I do know where Master Bator is hanging out.... (Right here at my house)
  23. Hmm, thanks for the above. I'll still miss out, as I don't arrive back until April, and I don't get to the Darkside often - I get lost too easily over there (in more ways than one).
  24. As always, another great and insightful set of comments. Thanks for the entertainment.
