Chang Thong House Hotel (Soi Diana)
yorta2 replied to yorta2's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Thanks - it seems that Trip Adviser is about the only site that has anything on it. It opened in 2009, but that seems to be about all. Stuffed if I know! I just might forget about it. -
Can anybody tell me if this hotel is still in existence and if it is still viable as a hotel? I can't seem to find out much about it, and in particular, recently. It's location is great, but I can't recall ever noticing it.

Anyway, getting back to funny pictures, As an Aussie and an irreligious one, I thought this was topical in the recent news climate. I mean he isn't really a bad bloke, is he?...: Fuck, where did that picture go?

A police officer pulls over a speeding car. The officer says, ' I clocked you at 120 km/h, sir.' The driver says, 'Officer I had it on cruise control at 100, perhaps your radar gun needs calibrating.' Not looking up from her knitting the wife says: 'Now don't be silly dear, you know that this car doesn't have cruise control.' As the officer writes out the ticket, the driver looks over at his wife and growls, 'Can't you please keep your mouth shut for once?' The wife smiles demurely and says, ! 'You should be thankful your radar detector went off when it did.' As the officer makes out the second ticket for the illegal radar detector unit, the man glowers at his wife and says through clenched teeth, 'Fuck it, woman, can't you keep your mouth shut?' The officer frowns and says, 'And I notice that you're not wearing your seat belt, sir. That's an automatic $75 fine.' The driver says, 'Yeah, well, you see officer, I had it on, but took it off when you pulled me over so that I could get my license out of my back pocket' The wife says, 'Now, dear, you know very well that you didn't have your seat belt on. You never wear your seat belt when you're driving.' And as the police officer is writing out the third ticket the driver turns to his wife and barks, 'WHY DON'T You shut the fuck up? The officer looks over at the woman and asks, 'Does your husband always talk to you this way, Ma'am?' 'Only when he's drunk.'

Green Hotel Soi 9 Pattaya

Nice renovation - long time since I have stayed there - will try again. Thanks, Mike.

Pong Phen has had a pool for around 5 years. They put it in when Noble Nights was being built (as it had a pool in the plans), and Noble Nights then copied Pong Phen's Thai Bungalow idea too. They are right next to each other and off the same 'driveway' (or sub-Soi). Quite a number of ex-Navy blokes stay at PP for a few days around Anzac Day.

Anyone stayed at the Golf Club?
yorta2 replied to prorose's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
If you are really after golf contacts, try Rabbi's Elephant Bar on Soi Bukhao (and only a couple of hundred metres from your proposed accommodation). Have a look here: http://www.elephantbar.net/ -
Try this one - great accommodation to suit anyone, good food, good bar, pool, and in the middle of the action - you won't regret it: http://www.pongphen.com/

Wait and see. It is unavoidable that you have to go through it, and it varies so much. Play it by ear and hope for the best.
-
Thanks, Sam. It does look interesting, and I will wait to hear from others who may have tried it.

So that's where it is (MM Post #6). Never even noticed it, but HAVE had 2 girls from the Buakhao Bar Beer, right next door, and they were only average....

That looks fun, Gabor. I enjoyed the photos and they made me feel I would have really enjoyed the day - so relaxing, but with the added bonus of catching your own lunch. I would be happy with such life vests - I've seen worse (or none).

Evil commented on this place back in August in another part of this thread: http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/topic/59252-hotels-with-a-pool-in-pattaya/

Sad too hear - not only for the loss of lives, but for the fine ship too.

Is there a current map of all hotels
yorta2 replied to twomp's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Mike Baird puts out some great maps, but as stated, this one is a bit out of date too. It would be bloody near impossible to include ALL hotels in one map of Pattaya, though: http://www.pattayabarguide.com/hotel-map.htm -
Not sure when they started charging, but they certainly have for over 4 years - about the last time I visited there.

Thanks for that Rate Card, Grandpollo. I've never seen one before, so it will assist in any long trips I might make in the future. Cheers.

I enjoyed that, but being a bit of a cynic, I doubted that it was really posted on UK Amazon. I was wrong, but I did read some other quite funny reviews of VEET there as well: http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B000KKNQBK?oo=10000996

No Joiner Fee Hotels in Chiang Mai?
yorta2 replied to ozijeff's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I stayed in Lai Thai Guesthouse about 3 years ago and it was guest friendly then. About 12 of my friends stayed there October last year and it still was (at least for that number of paying guests). Have a look at their website - great food, good location and lovely pool too: http://www.laithai.com/en/home/
