  1. Really good information - thanks for that. I have been wondering about such (small bus/van) services from Victory Monument, and this one is right on the money.
  2. Thanks, Tom, for bringing this thread back to comedy!
  3. Mike Baird puts out some great maps, but as stated, this one is a bit out of date too. It would be bloody near impossible to include ALL hotels in one map of Pattaya, though: http://www.pattayabarguide.com/hotel-map.htm
  4. Not sure when they started charging, but they certainly have for over 4 years - about the last time I visited there.
  5. Thanks for that Rate Card, Grandpollo. I've never seen one before, so it will assist in any long trips I might make in the future. Cheers.
  6. I enjoyed that, but being a bit of a cynic, I doubted that it was really posted on UK Amazon. I was wrong, but I did read some other quite funny reviews of VEET there as well: http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B000KKNQBK?oo=10000996
  7. Hmm.... The page you requested cannot be found. The Web page you are attempting to view may not exist or may have moved. You may have reached this page from an incorrect link. Try double checking the Web address.
  8. I stayed in Lai Thai Guesthouse about 3 years ago and it was guest friendly then. About 12 of my friends stayed there October last year and it still was (at least for that number of paying guests). Have a look at their website - great food, good location and lovely pool too: http://www.laithai.com/en/home/
  9. Yep. I had a look at his site and there it is - Drinking Street. Reckon it might be time for a visit there.
  10. I flew Emirates return Sydney/Bangkok in April (for the first time) and, except for arriving at 1.15am - which might not suit some, I love them. Now, I realise it is only about a nine hour flight and I haven't flown further with them, I enjoy their service, food and particularly the range in the entertainment system. The aircraft have been 777s, and the return to Sydney seems to almost always be virtually empty, so plenty of room to lie down in Economy class. I have never flown Etihad, but only because their flights are way dearer on the Aussie/Bangers leg.
  11. Jacko (above) "How big is the bun containing a hot dog?" Not so big:
  12. My girl and I ate there last Sunday evening. We both enjoyed our meals and, particularly, as we were lucky enough to get a table furthermost out in the bay, and on a corner, it was a fairly romantic dinner (or as much as can be expected with a bar girl. I am happy to say that the meals are back to what they used to be prior to my last visit to LOS. Well done, Pete!
  13. As somebody else said earlier, buy a cover for it, but buy the Amazon one. It has a light that is powered by the Kindle and makes reading in bed with the bedroom light off possible. I know that most of you probably have other things to do when the light is off, but it is a great asset when the time requires it.
  14. As I am arriving in a week, that is so good to hear. Last time I was over I experienced a sad downturn in quality and the time it took to get an order. I expected Pete to do something to improve it as there were quite a number of others who were saddened by the 'lapse', and it certainly sounds as if I can happily eat there again.
  15. I adore the peaty flavour of Laphroaig (10 y.o.), but often have to settle on Glenlivet. Ah well, they are both okay, and I enjoy them. However, if you are having it with anything other than ice, then buy the cheapest crap you can find.
  16. Listened to it all the way through - hoped it would get funny - but it didn't.
  17. I've used Webjet many times for both Australian domestic and for international flights - no problems. However, lately, and for my next flight to Thailand (next month) I have utilised Zuji and got a better price. It certainly pays to look at both companies.

Were you stoned when you wrote that response, pattaya_mad? F'n Hell!
  19. 'She' certainly has pretty hairy arms and legs, but hey, each to his own...
  20. Damn, this is bad news. Where am I going to eat next trip? Hope it gets sorted out before April - I know Pete would do it if he becomes informed by a disgruntled customer, so please, if you have been there recently and have a gripe, let him know... Ta.
  21. I have also been told that this one is pretty good too, but haven't personally used them yet - will be getting teeth whitened next trip (and not the way most of you on here whiten your TGF's teeth, either ): http://www.dentaldepattaya.com/dentalteam.htm
  22. Hmm, Sorry Mate, but that would drive me batty - too long and too much for a tired traveller who needs a rest (although I also may be a bit too old for that sort of music).
  23. It costs nothing to have the whole body nibbled if you visit Erawan Falls up in Kanchanaburi. All the beautiful cool pools up there at the bottom of each fall are filled with fish that nibble all your bits - be careful about your nipples - not the most fantastic bit to have chewed. However, if you just sit on the side of a pool and dangle your feet in the fish clean them up nicely and pleasantly.
  24. I was under the belief that all cigarettes now (legally) sold in Thailand are made in Thailand, regardless of the labels. I'm not a smoker, so would like to know if that is true.
  25. Thanks for that. Can you get dolphin sandwiches?
