  1. Thank you so much for that, Aussiechic, it was exactly what I was looking for. I feel much more content that I have booked there now. Great to have a report on any hotel.
  2. I like #69, mainly because of the number, but I guess at a pinch I'd take a few others....
  3. I made a booking with ChangThong House Hotel, but it took a couple of calls. On the first, no-one could speak more than a couple of words in English and I was asked to call back a couple of hours later. On the second call, a woman spoke to me in English that wasn't much better and I am proud to say that my limited Thai got me through, with her praising me for my efforts and I praising her for her English attempts - ( a mutual admiration society? ). Anyway, I have a room booked for 1000THB per night for 5 nights. I hope the hotel lives up to my expectations. It is, of course, girl friendly
  4. I guess I should be used to the fact that many Thais do not respond to emails, but hoped this hotel would. Just have to make another international phone call - worth it if it works out.
  5. If you need it, don't rely on it working if you take it just before bonking. Take it whilst out on the town, or just before you leave your room (which saves you having to carry them around with you). I do the latter and never have a problem. In fact, the tabs I use seem to work better if I have taken them a few hours before I need them to cut in, and are still working well in the morning following.
  6. Thanks, Guys, I really appreciate your efforts and might contact them - could be a cheaper option than Areca, which does not have vacancies for my next visit, and still be in a very handy location. If I stay there I'll definitely give a report.
  7. Funny thing is that this link shows it was there in 2011/2012. Don't know why I can't find it: http://pattayabound.blogspot.co.uk/2011/05/changthong-house-hotel-soi-diana.html
  8. Thanks, Fatboyfat, but I thought when I said there was a little information on the Travel Adviser site, it would be obvious that I had Googled it. Anyway, it doesn't seem like it really exists, does it?
  9. Thanks - it seems that Trip Adviser is about the only site that has anything on it. It opened in 2009, but that seems to be about all. Stuffed if I know! I just might forget about it.
  10. Can anybody tell me if this hotel is still in existence and if it is still viable as a hotel? I can't seem to find out much about it, and in particular, recently. It's location is great, but I can't recall ever noticing it.
  11. Anyway, getting back to funny pictures, As an Aussie and an irreligious one, I thought this was topical in the recent news climate. I mean he isn't really a bad bloke, is he?...: Fuck, where did that picture go?
  12. A police officer pulls over a speeding car. The officer says, ' I clocked you at 120 km/h, sir.' The driver says, 'Officer I had it on cruise control at 100, perhaps your radar gun needs calibrating.' Not looking up from her knitting the wife says: 'Now don't be silly dear, you know that this car doesn't have cruise control.' As the officer writes out the ticket, the driver looks over at his wife and growls, 'Can't you please keep your mouth shut for once?' The wife smiles demurely and says, ! 'You should be thankful your radar detector went off when it
  13. Thanks again, Mate. Always good to read.
  14. This site provides an email address: http://www.pattaya24seven.com/index.php/overview/2-uncategorised/31
  15. Nice renovation - long time since I have stayed there - will try again. Thanks, Mike.
  16. Pong Phen has had a pool for around 5 years. They put it in when Noble Nights was being built (as it had a pool in the plans), and Noble Nights then copied Pong Phen's Thai Bungalow idea too. They are right next to each other and off the same 'driveway' (or sub-Soi). Quite a number of ex-Navy blokes stay at PP for a few days around Anzac Day.
  17. If you are really after golf contacts, try Rabbi's Elephant Bar on Soi Bukhao (and only a couple of hundred metres from your proposed accommodation). Have a look here: http://www.elephantbar.net/
  18. Try this one - great accommodation to suit anyone, good food, good bar, pool, and in the middle of the action - you won't regret it: http://www.pongphen.com/
  19. Wait and see. It is unavoidable that you have to go through it, and it varies so much. Play it by ear and hope for the best.
  20. Thanks, Sam. It does look interesting, and I will wait to hear from others who may have tried it.
  21. So that's where it is (MM Post #6). Never even noticed it, but HAVE had 2 girls from the Buakhao Bar Beer, right next door, and they were only average....
  22. That looks fun, Gabor. I enjoyed the photos and they made me feel I would have really enjoyed the day - so relaxing, but with the added bonus of catching your own lunch. I would be happy with such life vests - I've seen worse (or none).
  23. Sorry, but crap singer, crap music, fat- arsed girls (although some do like that) and poor editing. Watched it all the way through, but won't again. Glad you posted it, just to show what is out there....
  24. Evil commented on this place back in August in another part of this thread: http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/topic/59252-hotels-with-a-pool-in-pattaya/
  25. Sad too hear - not only for the loss of lives, but for the fine ship too.
