  1. Looks really good. I was there about 2 weeks ago and didn't drop in due to all the reno work. Wish I could be there for the celebration. Good luck with the new venture.
  2. Along with 6 of my friends, we hired a minivan from Mr. T to get us to Soi 2, Sukhumvit a week or so back. It was early, waited for us, and stopped at a service station for some of us to use hong nam, then delivered us very safely to our destination. No problems at all. Two of those friends had already arranged with the other guy (Mr Toom) to pick them up 2 days later in Sukhumvit and take them up to Kanchanaburi - they also had a great trip at a good price. I've used both of these companies for many years and have (on the whole) always had satisfactory service.
  3. Personally, I don't think the Thai girl is a problem. The bloke is an absolute dipstick! He doesn't seem to have any idea about Thai language or culture, is a litterer, chews mints whilst smoking, and speaks over her telephone conversation (I know sometimes their calls can annoy the shit out of you). She is doing all she can to ignore his stupidity. But that's just my guess....
  4. Chang Thong House - My bed; my shower:
  5. Chang Thong House from the front (Soi Diana), opposite Robin's Nest restaurant:
  6. Chang Thong Business Card. CCF12052013_00000.pdf
  7. Yeah, sorry, but I forgot to being a lead to upload my photos from camera to MacBook, but will in a week or so (when I get home). Will also scan a copy of their business card.
  8. I am currently in my room at Chang Thong. My telephoned booking hadn' been logged, but I got a room. Fantastic value for 1000 Baht per night, clean, comfortable, well equipped, good wifi, good shower, quiet, and very accessible to everything. Breakfast is, indeed, a bit boring but Robin's Nest is immediately opposite (if necessary). I definitely will stay here again. No problems with bringing in guests, but not sure about multiple girls.
  9. Probably no need to get too serious about it. I reckon the OP posted it in the 'Funnies' section due to a number of reasons....
  10. I originally thought it was free access, but now have been informed by someone else that it costs 80 Baht. However, all Farang look pretty much the same to Thais, and I reckon you wouldn't have any problem using the pools freely, as long as you don't make a big fuss about it. When I am there (in a few weeks) I have some friends staying at Areca, so will just join them if I need a cool dip but, normally I don't really care.
  11. We (Vets) may have a few idiosycrasies that others don't always recognise, but we aren't all fuckwits. It's good you blocked this one - I have a similar "friend" who used to do the same stuff to me, and (occasionally) still does through other networks. I've learnt to ignore him.
  12. worldxcess78, you have no respect for your guts, coming all the way to LOS to eat that shit! I understand people getting a bit of a "fat attack" and "needing" a fatty meal but, hey, it's Thailand and you just don't need to eat (or to try) too much of that stuff. Just my opinion....
  13. Okay, very much like the mob I have used in the past for laser teeth whitening: http://www.dentistbeach.com/ They may be a bit more expensive than some others but, hey, so much cheaper than in Australia, and very pleasant dentists.
  14. I'm in in May too - but 1st 'til 6th. Maybe a bit short, but at least I get to try it.
  15. I've walked past 'My Way' on many occasions, but never entered. It is now bookmarked in my mind. Thanks!
  16. Wow. what a weird little thread! I have no idea why it is here, but it seems like fun for some.
  17. There are very few hotels in Pattaya in the cheaper range (600-800 Baht) that charge joiner fees, particularly if you ask for double rooms. In fact, I have yet to stay in one, even in the range of between 1000 and 2000 Baht per night. As stated, Drunken Duck or any other guesthouse on Soi LK Metro should meet your needs.
  18. Thank you so much for that, Aussiechic, it was exactly what I was looking for. I feel much more content that I have booked there now. Great to have a report on any hotel.
  19. I like #69, mainly because of the number, but I guess at a pinch I'd take a few others....
  20. I made a booking with ChangThong House Hotel, but it took a couple of calls. On the first, no-one could speak more than a couple of words in English and I was asked to call back a couple of hours later. On the second call, a woman spoke to me in English that wasn't much better and I am proud to say that my limited Thai got me through, with her praising me for my efforts and I praising her for her English attempts - ( a mutual admiration society? ). Anyway, I have a room booked for 1000THB per night for 5 nights. I hope the hotel lives up to my expectations. It is, of course, girl friendly and the pool at Areca Lodge can be utilised, although I rarely use one - either a quick cool shower in my room, or just stay in an aircon'd bar.
  21. I guess I should be used to the fact that many Thais do not respond to emails, but hoped this hotel would. Just have to make another international phone call - worth it if it works out.
  22. If you need it, don't rely on it working if you take it just before bonking. Take it whilst out on the town, or just before you leave your room (which saves you having to carry them around with you). I do the latter and never have a problem. In fact, the tabs I use seem to work better if I have taken them a few hours before I need them to cut in, and are still working well in the morning following.
  23. Thanks, Guys, I really appreciate your efforts and might contact them - could be a cheaper option than Areca, which does not have vacancies for my next visit, and still be in a very handy location. If I stay there I'll definitely give a report.
  24. Funny thing is that this link shows it was there in 2011/2012. Don't know why I can't find it: http://pattayabound.blogspot.co.uk/2011/05/changthong-house-hotel-soi-diana.html
  25. Thanks, Fatboyfat, but I thought when I said there was a little information on the Travel Adviser site, it would be obvious that I had Googled it. Anyway, it doesn't seem like it really exists, does it?
