  1. Hmm, Springboks? Well done Japan!
  2. Chester, this is what I said, "In any case, if you did that, even 2 years prior, I'd think you were an arsehole." I stand by that. However I was not calling you an arsehole, because obviously it wasn't you who committed the crime, but in any case, I would have called you that if it had been you, and I wouldn't be on my own.
  3. Yes Gary, but I think - a diesel 4x4 with a snorkel. Even high gasoline 4x4s can stall, due to water ingress into ignition system and water ingress to air intake.
  4. Have a look at the page, post #18, and look at the last sentence or two): http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/topic/64732-my-dental-experience/
  5. Well, I for one, am happy the thieving bastards got caught. That is a high lunch bill and, if it was a 'forgetful error', the diners should have forwarded the money to the resort by mail (with an apology). Staff members would most likely have had to make up the shortfall. If you think it is a bit over the top, Chester, try it and see what happens.... In any case, if you did that, even 2 years prior, I'd think you were an arsehole.
  6. Haven't you bothered to look at this thread?: http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/forum/58-doctors-dentists-clinics-and-hospitals/
  7. Yes, of course, Jacko. It all depends on which side you are on when you arrive at the station - both have escalators. If you are coming from Soi Nana, you can cross at the top of the street, but if you are coming the other way (Soi Cowboy end) it is difficult to cross unless you use the station overpass. But I guess this small banter is getting a bit off-topic.
  8. Ploen Chit is around the same distance, but a bit harder to walk there due to the crossings. You don't have to cross Sukhumvit to get to Nana station, nor Ploen Chit.
  9. Yes there are escalators at Nana, but if you walk from (say) Soi 4 to Nana and take the first entrance to Nana Skytrain you will have to climb stairs. If you walk another 50 metres to the second entrance you will have an escalator. On the other side of Sukhumvit Road, I think, the stairs/escalator entrances are reversed.
  10. You may learn. I do not always provide handouts, but on occasion, when the 'fighter' has asked pleasantly, I chuck in a few baht to build up his taking for the day. It can't be a real money spinner for them, but everyone has to make a living and, on even lesser occasions, I have enjoyed the stage-acting show.
  11. Great idea, and a good, simple page too. Thanks ikkrang and Nam.
  12. Hmm, yes, I believe it IS North American slang. So are many other Americanisms that only Americans use but, similarly, there are other American words that are, in fact, older English than the English use - words such as "hogs" when speaking about pigs. Many such words crossed to the Americas before the Great Vowel Change in England, and continue to be used. Personally, I always have fears when American airline crews announce that, "We will be in the air momentarily". I tend to think that we should be in the air a great deal longer than that, as "momentarily", to me, means "for only a momen
  13. Fantastic. As with others, I have walked past this place many times, but was a bit cautious as to its quality. Thanks for doing the "testing" for me, as I will visit it for a meal.
  14. This is by far NOT the cheapest dentist in Pattaya, but it is a good one. I think you can find prices for procedures (including whitening) on many sites. Have a look here and compare: http://www.dentistbeach.com/
  15. Yep, great start to each month. Thanks!
  16. I think you have added a few zeros into your figures above, Chang-parp.
  17. That would very well be it. The plastic chairs seem the same. I have only been there in the dark
  18. Yes, my girl and I have eaten there a couple of times - good cheap seafood and cheap cold beer. There are plenty of fans over most tables.
  19. I have stayed there, but not for over 6 years. I think ownership has changed a couple of times since then. When I stayed there it was quite noisy at night, but not from disco's/go-gos, but from the long-time residents (or particularly one of them) who loved to play his CDs very loudly (and usually repetitively) all bloody night when he was on a "melancholy" bender. Maybe it was just that time I stayed there, but I didn't take the risk again. Food was good, the bar was not closed in or air-conditioned then, and I enjoyed the location. I definitely would prefer staying at the Metro Apartmen
  20. Thanks again for my morning light relief - it helps me get through the day in freezing, wintery W.E. Australia. Edit: Oops, S.E. Australia.
  21. You can get a great room at Changthong House on Soi Diana for about 900 Baht per night, including an adequate breakfast. No pool, but good elevators and good staff. Cherry (on reception) speaks reasonable English and is a good help in everything. Laundry costs are reasonable. They have no website, but this link is still very relevant for information: http://pattayabound.blogspot.com.au/2011/05/changthong-house-hotel-soi-diana.html Telephone: 038-421334, or 038-410907. Email: changthong_house@hotmail.com
  22. Ah well, it has taken some time but, as I said back in Post #2, "Thanks Saa. Now we await the critics.... :sosad". They may very well be here now. I reckon that if you are worried about the bar, don't go there or, better still, just drop in and meet Saa, see the girls and make up your own minds. A photo or two of the girls may satisfy the fantasies of a few guys currently outside LOS but, as Martin said, they will soon change to others.
  23. The video doesn't work in Australia either, but no worries, I'm sure we'll see plenty of other crap about all this.
