"Party Time" Plus: "Bohemian Rhapsody"
teelack replied to Barrief's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Thanks Barrie. I rarely watch videos on here but these were well shot and edited and much appreciated. -
I am sure that someone out there will give us a lead to Dontcha's last Pattaya trip. I believe that he stayed here and wrote a glowing report of the place.

Thanks for the update. I have to say that I have neither heard of or seen this place and I stayed three weeks in Soi 2 last trip. -
Death of a Shopping Mall: A Rant
teelack replied to MeGoDanceNow's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Thanks for taking the time. I always enjoy keeping up with whats going on in Pattaya. -
Thanks for the input Steve. I was wondering why such a well positioned place with a great pool was so little talked about. Perhaps I now know! Regards.

I have to believe that is place is so very well positioned and seems to have the lot. The rates appear to start from 700 Baht low season. Any commemts from boardies please?

Hi there Greg. Can I suggest the following. I have to admit this is not the first time that I have made the suggestion but no one so far has taken it up. I would love to see a Soi LK guest house sort out a deal/ contract/ understanding whatever with a hotel in the area for use of the pool. Perhaps a charge back basis. As I see it I believe that the Areca charges 200 baht. When I add this to a room amount and take into account that the rate at Areca included breakfast then I may as well have stayed in hotel in the first place. The point is that I want access to a pool in the area when I want to use a pool. I want a rate that is reasonable and preferably a chargeback. Any thoughts?

I was of the belief that the cheapest phone was fine for Pattaya trips till I saw some good photos and have since done some homework. I am seriously thinking of leaving my cameras at home and getting a 6 to 8 mp camera phone. The quality of these photos is as good as I need for travelling.

Only comment I would make is that while I love the convenient location I dont like the swimming pools at either place. If this is part of your needs then Soi 8 is not for you. The pools are at best adequate. Also until all the construction has gone next to the Sunshine I will not be venturing there again.

We all see these things so differently. As I was reading the story it immediatly came to mind that she had set this one up and simply dropped to goodies out the window/balcony to an accomplice while you were in the shower. As to the assertion that safes are hard to break into well there is a a well worn video here somewhere of people getting into these safes in 10 seconds by hitting them in the sweet spot.

My name is Dale, the new owner of Bob's BBQ
teelack replied to bbqbob's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
One great thing about this forum is the depth of experience. Whilst I like "Mexican" food I am totally unsure what its really supposed to taste like as I have never been in the area. I therefore like hearing what you guys have to say about this type of food. I assume that you have a real familiarity with the cuisine and if the consensus is that its good I will visit if you tell me its crap then I wont. Like others here I visited the Cantina on Soi 7 just once and knowlege or none I never went back. -
Thanks for all the responses. Its rare to find 100% acceptance of a guesthouse but thats the case here.

Ho Hum. It sounds just like the Dream Teen massage story all over. Some thought it great and others a rip off. In the end however it often up to the quality of the lady that you luck onto.

I think that the down light on a 45 degree angle in the bathroom would be illegal anywhere in the world and wherever it is its very very unsafe.

Pete. A really great and I believe sincere response. IMHO the PBG has been the one most important addition to Pattaya in the last couple of years. I have to admit that I do not much fancy the free lancers but I like them being there. I have never had a bad meal or have I had poor service. I have however been in the catering business and know that apathy happens and it it great that Pete is aware and tries to be pro active. As I say, the PBG has added a place where an hour a night at least is well invested when I am in Patts and its wonderful value for money. Finally, well done to those that put complaints in. I believe your problems to be real and in your integrity also and its only by doing this that standards will be up held.

I was wondering if there has been any reviews on ths place. It was just about to open when I was last in Patts and I am not even sure that I have the right name. Any updates please?

Drink Wise, What Do You Normally Order?
teelack replied to Jiklo's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Draught beer. Its not just the price but also it makes me able to last the night as I feel that the draught is not very strong in Patts. -
Good thread. I would have thought that with the fall of the dollar and the cheaper fares coming from Australia that they would have done better in the polls. Then again thre is one hell of a difference between membership and vistiting Pattaya. Perhaps another poll. " Have you visited Pattaya in the last X months?"

Cherry Bar Party (Bill's Going Home Party)
teelack replied to Hammer's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Great pixes, looked like a great party and bought back great memories. -
I would appreciate some warts and all reviews of the Drunken Duck please. I am not looking to run the place down as I believe its in a prime position and might even change from hotel to guest house if there are sufficient good reviews. I would be greatful for any comments as to where to get a swim in the area at a decent price. The problem for me is that if I pay 200 baht at the Areka I may as well have stayed there in the first place.

I work a lot for charity organisations and what I do is a personal thing for me. I expect nothing in return and also expect that some of the money ends up with the wrong people at times but its my choice and just because its not 100% perfect I wont stop doing it. I applaud the OP for his giving but as someone else says you cannot expect the Thais to change their culture just because you have decided to become involved in it.

Pattaya bars to be allowed open 24 hours for High Season?
teelack replied to frostfire's topic in Idle Chit Chat
As it used to be said, why not open during the lunch hour and make it 25 hours a day. Makes as much sense. -
I have to say that as I have aged a swimming pool, a lounger, the odd meal or drink and a bit of shade are essential. My problem is that I have stayed at only a few hotels and I was wondering where boardies felt was the best swimming pool in terms of value for money. I know of some places in Pattaya that I will not stay in because whilst they have a pool, they have no shade. Others have all of these but no food or drink. In others the water is a bit suspect. I would appreciate some feedback on any members comments about this rather important part of the Pattaya experience. I would also be interested to hear of any rooming houses that have a deal at a reasonable rate for pool useage.
