Best is still the road side carts especially those that line Central Festival in the morning ; before the shopping centre opens. Its Nescafe but the amount and the milk they put in is heaven! Aother one is at the 2nd road enterence of Soi Honey.

The café on the Soi Buakao market place (near South Pattaya Rd) is very good

and sometimes in the afternoon very full too

They have many varieties and make the roasting them-self.

Nice! I spent a lot of time looking but couldn't find any decent places, this sounds interesting.

 

The worst I saw was a full on super auto (home) machine with grinder being used for cappuccino. Sounds "ok" right? Not really, because they filled the grinder with instant coffee and used it like that. Oof, that was some rough stuff!

 

Any idea what espresso machine they use at the aforementioned cafe and what level they roast to (city, city+ etc)? I like my beans like I like my women, tan and tasty

Cafe Pittini on Soi Buakhao used to make great coffee. The original owner sold up so I'm not sure if it's still as good but it certainly has a lot of punters so I reckon they're doing something right.

I am not a great coffe drinker as it aggravates the pains however I have had a cup or two in the wee cafe stand inside the supermarket halfway up 2nd road at the jtcn of that road that passes the north end of Soi Bukaow.

Yeah I forgot about them! Try the traditional kopi ............ a little to sweet but I just ask them for less sugar.

another plug for cafe Pittini, 55 baht, hot, strong and a big cup. I was in there yesterday and speaking to bruce who has been the owner for a number of years. I didnt know that he had sold up LDK??

also the McCafe at mcdonalds in the avenue complex has a good coffee at a reasonable price

I haven't found a place in Pattaya that serves excellent espresso drinks. It's extremely hard to take care of coffee beans in humid weather and I haven't seen a place in Pattaya that stores beans properly. Your best bet is skipping straight coffee; chances are it has been sitting out too long. Get an Americano instead. Places like Starbucks, 99 degrees, and Black Canyon are your best bet. They're not great, but if you get an espresso-based drink then at least it will be somewhat fresh.

 

Great coffee is one of the few things I miss when I'm in Pattaya. Thankfully, there are places in Bangkok that roast their own beans and keep them fresh.

The beans also have to be fresh -- generally used within two weeks of roasting -- and stored in an air-tight container at room temperature. I doubt the beans in the Beer Garden are treated that way.
