I believe the Dollhouse has been acquired and will reopen as Windmill 3.

There is no sign of re-opening happening, and isn't the story I've heard.

I was on Walking Street last week, had a good time.  Doorman wouldn't let me into Pinup at 7:55 so I went over to XS for a beer, when I came back at 8:30 I was lucky to get a table in the back.  The b

Sanctuary of Truth.  Admission is 500 baht.  Quite busy this afternoon.  They do try to get visitors to stay in groups (50 in our case).  I managed to get lost from the group and did my own thing taki

Thanks for the photos. Made the rounds this past weekend and pretty much echo your findings.Drink prices are a bit high, i paid 140 baht for a rum in simple beer bars on Soi Honey and Diana. Bar fined a beer bar girl ,one from Kinks, and used the ST room at TQ twice. Usual prices.  Lips,Pandoras and Angels were disappointing but don't take that as a review. We know there could be a completely different vibe in only an hour.  Destiny and upstairs at Kinks were our favorites. Taught some girls to play Craps which they really enjoyed though i realized throwing dice with money scattered on the table in a bar opening to the Street was not my smartest move.    TF girl wanted 1,000 LT. She is a hotel cleaner and new to the game. The Zip hotel on Soi Diana was a good value at 600/night as Areca was fully booked. Disappointed as i lost my superstar on Soi 6 to an extentened commitment. Bolt rides still a bargain 95 baht from Diana to Wongamat Beach.   Going back to the States in 2 weeks so plan on making the best of things until then.

Wonder when they're going to finish the new pumping station south of Khao Noi on the railway road. Think it's been over two years since they started on the project to deepen the canal and install the pumping station.

What was this old group of bars near The Memorial Hospital called? I remember being in there a few times and one of those I was with a right  cheap Charlie.. so it must have been cheap there! They are in no hurry to demolish them. I noticed quite a few MPs on Second Rd appear to have given up opening. Mostly the upper end, big window places. Still got equipment in them so probably lying fallow until high season, or simply open late. A place I visited was doing very well with foot massages at midday......

And this is the old Made in Thailand Beer Bar Complex.....I think. Not much progress. Looking like another market... maybe an extension of the Night Bazaar.

That's a remake of Made In Thailand. I've been calling it MIT v2. IIRC, saw on another forum they're looking to open 1 October. If that's true they'd better pick up the construction pace.

From plans I've seen posted on another forum there will be about 50 beer bars, one way vehicle access from Buakhao to 2nd Rd., and space for three vehicles to park.

Was it  not destined to be a condo project at one time? What became of that idea? I may still be groggy, wandering in town had me delirious today with the heat... which is back again.  The town is looking quite shabby of late!

Quite possible. I seem to recall at one point during the lockdown months a sign advertising the location was going to be a new location for one of the fitness centers.

I think the condo project never really got past the rumour stage. They certainly never got close to even promoting a condo project. Possibly couldn't find a developer who would cough up the price the landlords wanted for the land.

I heard the same thing.  Boy does he have a lot of work to do.  That place has stood empty for a long time and I suspect there are a lot of critters living in there and they will need to rip out anything made of cloth and repaint.  Probably need lot of plu, bing work too.

It had a bad reputation for uncontolled wildlife yeats ago. Dread to think what it is like after being vacant for a few years.

I stayed in the classroom early this year, looked out over the rodeo boys next door to the penthouse. They are both going to need some serious work to get them into shape.lots of rats came out to play at night.Of course the locals fed the dogs that attracted the vermin at night and the birds overday.A few homeless slept there as well.

I also stayed at Classroom Jan-March.  And the dogs out front of Classroom (like them but dayum shut the fuck up at night) would kill rats and leave them around on the road.

I would hate to work in Penthouse.  Betting there are vagrants sleeping there and wildlife galore.

I think the penthouse is salvageable, lots of work but doable. The rodeo boys is another matter,I wouldn't know where to start apart from a total demolition.

What I thought was going to be a food market across from Nirun is starting to look more like an overflow area for prisoners.

Reaction to elevated levels of thievery. Coincidentally, nearby me, a BBQ chicken shop/eatery, that is extremely popular, recently expanded.... and the result is somewhat like the picture you posted only smaller. I told my Mrs it was an overspill building for Nong Pla Lai prison. Ironic the above is near the Niran condo buildings.

Sorry to say those whole blocks are long overdue for demolition... been there a long long time and more could be made of the locations. Spent a lot of time in Dave's (GB) Bar nearby.

Don't know if they need razing as they are mostly brick.  But they are in sorry state no doubt.  My real bitch is most of these places have traditional "stairs" which I would happily traipse up and down in my youth.  Now with 2 fake knees and a fake hip on order I do not like those steep stairs.
